I already posted that. It's all about the situation and if there was a serious advantage gained.

Thats just for Note 3...

(a) substituting a ball when not permitted;

(b) dropping a ball when the Rules require it to be placed, or placing a ball when the Rules require it to be dropped;

(c) dropping a ball in an improper manner; or

(d) a ball being put into play by a person not permitted to do so under the Rules.

Not sure why you see this as a serious breach of the rules yet not the lost ball scenario.

The actual details still weren't posted. Hence, my skulled chip example

Nice, I may come up early to putt and chip. Thought about hitting a driving range right before for a little warmup, if you wanna join

I'll be there early to chip/putt. Probably will just hit some wedge shots for warm-up in the area now marked "Not for Practice"

Damn woman had a 20 minute conversation with me on the tee box on that first par 3 across the road with a 16 oz. beer can hidden behind my calf the last time I was at Webb.

ETA: changed from tallboy to 16 oz.

That other marshall is worse. Getting warned for "slow play" when we finished 18 in about three and a half on a Saturday.

Going back to the kid being DQ'd.... If he tees off on the next hole without fixing the mistake and having not invoked rule 3-3 then he is DQ'd. He is not DQ'd simply by holing out on that hole, it only happens if he tees off on the following hole. I too work as a pro and work at a WGC golf course. Ritz Carlton Dove Mountain. I'm not saying that him being DQ'd was wrong I'm just saying that DQing him after he holed out was wrong

Again the serious breach is a case by case basis and if the kid simply dropped the ball without knowing the rule I would not call that a serious breach

I'm finished with 9 and those guys are still on hole 5... looks like they're walking in slow motion.

So it's a two stroke penalty provided he has not signed his card.

This is why I love golf.

One pro says breach, the other says no.

this was my question regarding mistakingly playing a lateral hazard the same as a water hazard.

what constitutes the seriousness of the breach? is it the players intent or the rule itself.

No no. He is DQ'd once he tees off on the next hole. He must fix his error prior to teeing off
