I played with a set of them, they had graphite shafts. I loved them but I swing so hard, the shaft would splinter at the neck. I opted for some king cobra irons and let my dad have those.

Played really competitive jr golf til I was about 18. Started with the Ping I3's and being young and dumb bought the newest best stuff for like the next 3 years. Gave a guy a straight up trade for my Titleist 735's for a set of Ping I3's about 3 years ago and have been hitting them great ever since. Ping's really are ahead of their time in terms of quality.

The color codes changed recently, but orange dot I3's were 2* flat. White dot is 3* upright. If they are the right length you can get them bent.

I would not play the irons without getting them bent because they are 5* off.

Thanks. The colored dots really threw me off when I was looking at the Ping site. Figured it would be best to follow what they say instead of using the orange dots even though I would like to have my dad's clubs. How much do you think it would cost to get them bent?

It will cost about $4 or $5 club from most big golf stores. You could probably find a club builder and give him $20 for the whole set.

You can send them to Ping. I think all you pay is shipping both ways. They will check the lie and loft and repaint the dot for you. Not a bad deal if you can wait a couple of weeks for them.

Once again thanks. I'll look into that. I guess I caught the golf fever like everyone else in the world this week and trying to get back out there.

I still have my Ping Eye 2's. Complete set. Been thinking about sending them in to get updated.

Ping does refinishing for their irons.

What exactly do they do? I am in the same situation, don't feel like buying new clubs, but would be nice to get them updated.

they make your irons look brand new. clean up the finish, scratches, some other stuff. I read about it a few years ago. Call em up.

I still have my Ping Zing's and love them. I haven't played much in the past year, but may finally get some new ones when I start up again.

It is if you play enough rounds. Handicap takes into account the best 10 of your latest 20 scores.

If you can score really well on 10 rounds in 30 days, then you can drop your handicap a fair amount...but you have to be scoring at least 4-5 shots better than all of your prior best rounds.
