Why don’t you just head on over to Gainesville and suck Napiers dick because that is what you are really wanting to do.

Tommy Rees really watched every NFL play from last year and decided to replicate the Giants.

Unless Freeman gets more athletes at ND, he will be lucky to equal what Kelly had done there: Good enough to beat the average teams, but struggle when you have to play the better teams.

Kelly has won everywhere he has coached: Grand Valley State, Central Michigan, Cincinnati and Notre Dame.

You can't say that. I'm not sure what the power rankings are, but what would you put the line at if Texas A&M were on the road at Ohio St? They're number 6

Not 17. Maybe 11 or 12. And I think aTm is overrated.

ND probably has the most high-rated NFL prospects they've had since before Kelly got there, so I'm not saying they suck or don't have talent. But 17 is a huge point-spread for #2 vs. #5.

The 2023 class has more points than any previous ND class per 247. The roster will have better players (on paper). Recruiting isn't the issue.

The issue is with QB development and play-calling. Tommy Rees is a mediocre OC. Unless he improves or Freeman cuts bait and brings in an upgrade, the Offense will likely hold us back, despite having more talent in the years going forward on paper.

Clearly people don't really think they are the #5 team in the nation if they were 17-point underdogs.

People think the top 3 are great teams with a big drop off behind them.

The only legitimate things to criticize Kelly for during his time at ND were his laziness at times

Really? That's the only thing? Not killing a student?

This board was all on his arse back then.

But now he's the LSU coach, so he cool. All is forgiven...all is forgotten.

ND and OSU are both over rated as frick. ND was 5.

I'll take action that Ohio St gets in the playoff. Since they're overrated you should have no problem giving me plus odds

LSU fans have lost their minds over this Kelly/Freeman hiring thing.

If LSU played ND 2 seasons ago they would have said Kelly sucked and ND would never win a big game etc. etc. If Bama hired a guy who faked an accent and then was dancing with recruits within his first 3 months, they would have made no less than 1000 threads about it.

It is hilarious to watch how now Kelly is the 2nd coming of Bear Bryant ever since LSU hired him

We've won 2 NCs (and almost another) with 2 absolute idiots at head coach. The thought isn't that Kelly is that amazing, just that a competent, organized, and intelligent coach may be able to do some amazing things with our infrastructure.

The game has changed a ton since 2007 as everyone knows. Joe Burrow was a legit generational college quarterback. That gets used far too often but Burrow is one that isn't exaggeration.

Again LSU fans wouldn't have said this about Kelly in 2020

Some of them? Sure.

They are the same LSU fans who loved Les, O, and now Kelly, too, most likely.

I don't think Kelly is the most elite head coach but he seems to be doing fine with my biggest concern (recruiting). Now he just has to fix his offensive issues.

He does that with our talent every year and we are back to Bama/UGA levels again.

Just FYI, we did play them in a bowl after the 2017 season. You can go read what LSU fans thought about him on this board.

See I've always thought Kelly was good so I expect him to be good. I thought he was good at ND.

I think he looked like a moron early on at LSU trying way too hard

How often do interims ever pan out? Just don’t get not having a search.

I don’t get HAVING a search. If you are AD at a major football school you should know who your next coach is before you find out you need one. If BK quit tomorrow, Woodward should call our next coach that day. Or he should at least have a group of three.

Then they are as dumb as some of ours.
He will be fine. OSU is just better and with better players.
Personally I wish he’d get fired and go to a team I like because I like the guy. And don’t like ND.
