They may have been good, but they werent the defending national champs riding a 29 game winning streak and having 2/3 most recent national titles

Last night, people were claiming Clemson was soft and wouldn't be undefeated in the SEC.

Last Night

Today, they're the potential greatest team of all time.

Look, I think Clemson had a very good team this year, but the UF and OU teams Nebraska and SC beat were as good as this Clemson team.

They won 29 games in a row? and the previous 2/3 national championships?

LSU played this year's team, not last year's national champs. Clemson didn't play a single ranked team before OSU.

Yeah, the OU and UF teams were as good as Clemson. You don't start the game up a touchdown because you won the NC last year.

Even if they did, they'd still have lost by 10.

Right, because it doesn't help to have experience from the previous season? Of course it isn't the same exact team, but there were many carryovers from last season to this season.

No. The defense was very meh most of the season. Greatest of all time teams play both sides of the ball.

Offensively, LSU was amazing though.

The logic all season was Clemson will repeat because all the experience coming back and now it's "last year doesn't matter."

Doesn't matter. Everyone can suck that tiger dick.

Held Clemson to fewer points than Ohio State did.

They fricking kneeled the ball from the 5 yard line with 1+ minutes on the clock

So did Nebraska

Nebraska won 62-24 while calling off the dogs. Nebraska had backups in at the end if they game and still took a knee with the 3rd string QB inside the Florida 10 (2nd string QB also got pulled...it was that bad of a blowout)

LSU scores late and they win 49-25.

Clemson was down 28-25 in the 3rd. Nebraska was never challenged in that game.

There really is no comparison between the two games

They lost their entire D line, all of whom were first and second round NFL draft picks.

There's no way this Clemson D was near what they had last year with Ferrell, Lawrence, Wilkins etc. on their D line.

I'm saying I personally have LSU at 4, but can understand the argument they're over the first three. If that's not good enough for people, ok. That's my opinion and it's not exactly disrespectful to LSU.

The 3rd string drove down the field and knelt at the Florida 1. The Husker starters already had their pads off

As I’ve said. What Nebraska did in that game was on a different level.

That’s not diminishing what LSU did last night. Last night was an awesome performance. Burrow was amazing

Yet the talk all pregame was that their number 1 scoring defense was going to shut LSU down.

The 2001 Miami team that everyone loves was similarly inconsistent. This LSU team has 5 potential first rounders in the upcoming draft, and it will be interesting to see how much total talent was on this team 3 years from now.
