I hear you. There’s no good answer. I do worry about new officials staying on because they get blasted by parents/coaches on a daily basis

Parents aren’t bad at HS level, I have never had an issue with a parent…. It’s right before hs that turns off young coaches and officials

Yep. And I didn't clarify that earlier.

Walton gonna roll

As a Walton alum, I still can’t believe that the Raiders are a powerhouse, we were lucky to get past the first round in my day

The lower levels are worse from the parents? Interesting. I've been to a handful of junior games the past few years but I guess they were well behaved

Officiating is a tough job. It's like coaching where everyone thinks they can do better job but the few times I've had to step in my head was spinning with how fast the game was moving. I've got nothing but respect for you folks

They are always a well-coached/disciplined team, and they've taken advantage of bringing in some good to elite players every year.

Middle school and pre varsity parents are bad in all sports because many see the writing on the wall that little Steve or Stephanie may not be playing much longer or if at all and it’s everyone or everything but their DNA’s fault.

From my experience in La and MS high school do a good job of policing parents.

I did see a parent get removed from a game this year BEFORe kickoff.

And one last year where 5-10 years ago he’d have been left alone.

I also tune everyone but crew, head coaches, qb and snappers out??

Oh yeah, and the younger the kids, the worse the parents b/c they think Lil Johnny is the next Brady.

I know in Florida that if a parent harasses/threatens an official it's a felony. Here in Georgia it's still only a misdemeanor. It needs to be a felony.

Yep. Assistant coaches are not allowed to address us unless we address them first. We can pop them w/a USL which ultimately goes against the HC.

Our group didn’t get a semi this season. First time in its history. We are turning over and have a lot of new officials this year so I expect that’s part of it. One of our guys is on an area crew and he’s working tonight.

Hopefully Walton doesn’t suffer from the Dome/MBS playoffs curse again
