Just curious, never have I been fitted for a driver, but considering it this go around.
Looking to get the Ping G15, but I want to make sure I get the exactly what I need shaft wise. Would Edwin Watts do what I'm looking for?

yup. I was in there Saturday morning and got fitted for some irons, well got my irons fitted for me technically. Took him about 15 min to do the measurements and then took a couple swings and that was all. Ended up adding 1" to the shafts of my irons, and having the loft/lies adjusted.

Where do you live? Try to find a Ping demo day near you.

In Baton Rouge, but always between Baton Rouge and New Orleans. Let me try to find a demo day here soon.

We're having one at Southern Pines on 4/19. Obviously West Monroe is out of your range, but hopefully that means there will be one near you soon.

How much more beneficial would it be to go to a demo day as opposed to just walk in Watts and get fitted?

Demo day will have alot more variety of the Ping clubs, different shaft/head combos, etc. However, they probably will not have a launch monitor at a demo day, so if that is something you are looking for then EW would probably be better. Truth be told though, I don't trust their launch monitors and would prefer the demo day, as you get to see the results on a grass range.

Yeah, I figure the actual flight of the ball would be a lot more helpful. Only problem is demo day is at Carter Plantation and not sure if I can make it that day.

Been to Callaway and Titleist Demo Day so far, Taylormade tomorrow. The first 2 had a launch monitor and the one tomorrow is supposed to have one as well.

Just go to Dicks Sporting Goods. Try out 4-5 drivers including yours. After picking the one you like the most, get fitted for loft and stiffness. Its a free fitting with purchase. The Baton Rouge Dicks I think has a simulator which will show close to true flight.

Please don't do that. Go get fit by someone who knows what the hell they are talking about. They jack those launch monitors up and they aren't accurate. You really want to get fit outside if possible to see the ball flight.

If I'm going to drop 300 on a driver I want to SEE how I hit it. I can't get a feeling of ball flight hitting it 4 feet into a net.

LOL. Thats why you bring in your driver and compare. And launch angle, ball speed, and spin rate is all you need to look at and those cannot be adjusted. Also there is a PGA Pro at every Dicks.

Exactly, getting fit for irons and a driver are totally different. For irons they will just take static measurements and you will hit off a lie board. Any clown can do that. For drivers, you want to find the right head/shaft combo, and for that, you need should be outside.

true.
Santa Maria usually has a demo day with Ping, TaylorMade, Adams, etc. I'm not sure if Titleist is there or not.
It should be coming up pretty soon if it hasn't happened already.
NEVER NEVER NEVER believe the yardage - or ball flight - listed when you're hitting into a screen. It's pretty much complete bullshite.

If you want to get fit on some shitty dancing dog simulator, have at it. I will stick to a trackman for my fittings.

I looked on Pings webiste and the only one that popped up was Carter on Apr 21, which would be hard for me to make.
Edwin Watts might be my only choice.

Call local golf courses and see if they're having a demo day. Not all are listed.
