I would never defend Freddi, but, the Phillies are going to use at least 5-6 pitchers probably and I'd bet half of them are lefties. Obviously Heyward's defense is superior to Diaz, but I'd almost rather have Matty's bat in there. It's not the most bizarre move Freddi's made. Of course it would have to be something really batshit crazy to make that list.

If both the braves and cards lose tonight they should just not have a WC winner and the Phils can skip the division series

Heyward's defense is vastly superior to Diaz. Based on that alone Heyward should be playing.
Diaz hasn't even hit lefties that great this year, and in the month of September Heyward is outplaying Diaz no contest.

No lie, I was just kinda trying to put myself in Freddi's shoes and try to justify that decision. That was the best I could come up with 
I just think being surprised by his moves and criticizing his lineups are like beating a dead horse. The dude sucks but sadly he's our sucky dude for at least another year or two I'd imagine.

There's zero reason Diaz should be in over Heyward. Heyward should also be batting second in this lineup.
