unless there's some iron clad contract language in there where they can't fire him for his "controversial" content.
he's obviously become a good businessman, lets see how good of a lawyer he was.

I like Clay and listen all the time, but I’ve probably been to Outkick’s website a handful of times maybe.
I'm in the opposite camp.
I don't listen to Clay at all, but go to the website 2x a week- to read the Anonymous Mailbag on Tuesdays and All That and a Bag of Mail on Fridays.

If he was down to that little equity, he’ll basically be able to take his payday here and whenever the terms of the buyout are full filled, walk away w/ his audience wherever he wants. That audience is the valuable asset here and he’s the sole driver of that.
If bet the yearly salary as the President is the real play day. I'd assume they're paying him $1+ mil plus for that gig.
We obviously have no idea, but I'd guess he got somewhere in the neighborhood of the LeBetard show so he probably got anywhere from $10-25 mil payout plus the yearly salary.

You think outkick sold for $100 million?

No, I'd guess $20-50 mil, but again that's a complete guess and the quote I posted indicates he owns half of the company. The article was a little vague on the percentages, just that he was a partner with a venture capital firm on ownership.

I see. I just think if the number was big, Clay would have mentioned it. He loves to talk about his numbers, and he was silent on this.
I just don't see them selling for an amount close to the lebatard show, considering lebatard is a mainstay in the top 10 of the charts while Clay is somewhere in the 60s, even with the manipulating he does of his numbers.

that would be odd. Seems like every other podcast host has released their sales numbers.
Would be weird for Fox to have an NDA regarding the sales price.

I read the mail bag from time to time, but even then I see the link through Twitter and access it there.

Simmons 5.7mil Twitter follows
Portnoy 2.5mil
Big Cat 1.2 mil
PFT 835k
Clay 750k
Clay is much much closer to Paul finebaum then those other moguls.
Barstool Sports 2.8mil
The Ringer 524k
Outkick 150k
More people follow Brandon Walker at barstool than they do outkick.

Clay got paid but now he can’t brag about being his own boss and un-firable.

Travis actually testified in front of the Senate a few months ago that Twitter has frozen/shadow banned his accounts due to a anti-right bias, and basically put in social media blackouts that cut his web traffic by 80%.
Twitter, Facebook, etc. knows that the number of followers directly affects someone's income, so he hasn't "gained" any followers in like 6+ months.
I'd assume his real Twitter follower count is somewhere around 1-1.2 million.

Just look @ “followers” is deceiving. A quick scroll through Simmons’ Twitter with 5.7 million followers shows very little engagement, likes, retweets... scrolling through Travis’ Twitter shows more engagement from 5 million less people.
