Ha, nah not criticizing, just speaking on the experience I had. They were far from bad seats. Lots of overtake opportunities there.

Have they announced the concert lineup? Trying to get a group to go and could be a selling point for the wives.

We ended up with row 34, 2 rows from the top of turn 12. This will be my first race, pretty excited.

If I remember right there is a price jump at a certain row. I told myself I would bite the bullet and move to that next section up if I had to do it again. But only for Sunday.

GA for Friday/Saturday in order to save the difference in price for the higher section.

F1 COTA tickets, parking and concerts

Nice....

Was looking at tickets last week and they were all like 450, this is great.

Those that have gone before, is the GA for the 3 days worth it? Won’t have a seat, but can roam around and crap

Will be my first in-person race since Singapore got cancelled last year

Haha I’ve been asking the same.

Think I may just do GA and see how it is then next year get some bleachers or something.

Also interested in GA. Is walking around and sitting in some of the grassy spots not ideal?

To the poster that seemed to split up between GA the first two days and a bleacher ticket for race day, how did you do that? What site?

I don't know how I got them for $289 each, but I got row 9, section 6 at turn 12, but when I went back to the site, they were all at $350 for the 3 day ticket.

May sell my Friday tickets and parking pass though to someone who is looking at GA for Sat/Sun.

I went ahead and did GA.

I think it will be fine for my first time. Figured I’d bring a small chair and walk around sit at different spots each day and see what it’s like.

I’ve never been to any sort of race so i don’t even know if I’ll like it, and paying that much for seats in one spot was hard.

If I do like it I’ll pay for them next time.

I read that GA includes access to the concerts but when checking out it tried to sell me concert tickets? I didn’t buy them, hopefully I read that right.

Maybe, at the tigerdroppings meet up, there’s enough GA guys to beat up the turn 12 guys and we can steal their Sunday bleacher seats

You’re wanting to sell a parking pass for Sat/Sun? How much? We are driving there and will have our car so I might be interested.

Are you driving from home? The bus service to and from the track seems to be the fastest options since traffic is crazy leaving.

The bus costs about the same as parking, but the walk is a bit further. Unless you do private parking which is pretty easy to find, but just a long walk.

I was just coming here to sing the praises of GA tickets after seeing all the logjam of traffic for seats. Don't be scared off by GA tickets and doing some walking around the track for a few days. Last year was the highest ever attendance at COTA and there's still tons of room everywhere to plop yourself down on a hillside or portable chair. The venue has a massive amount of restrooms, concessions, drink pavilions, etc. and it's all extremely walkable. I'm doing 3-day GA again this year for sure.

canada canceled

quote:

For the second consecutive year, public health concerns are forcing the cancellation of the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal, according to Radio-Canada sources.
The news was first reported by the magazine Pole Position and La Presse.
The formal announcement is expected at 11:30 a.m. during a news conference featuring Montreal Mayor Valérie Plante, federal and provincial officials, as well as the race's promoter.

Turkey to replace. Will be nice to see them on that Turkey track when they can do some real racing.

Sucks for the Canadians but it's a win for everybody else. Turkey is a much better circuit than Gilles Villenueve.

I don't think you can go wrong with GA tickets. You will walk the whole track and see what areas you like.

Unless you plan to get there early and set up shop without moving getting prime GA will be hard on Sunday.

Will still be able to see decent, but 12-15 complex and Turn 1 will be packed.

Just realizing I’ll have about a 45min to an hour commute.

So what time do you consider “early” When do the gates open?

Also is there an itinerary or something? Like what time do they actually start race/practice/quals and doesn’t F2 run the same day?

I’m a total noob, just seen the Netflix show and Keep up with finishings through the app. Never seen a race on tv.
