Hamilton now says the fear is that another COVID infection will mean game over for the championship.

I mean, I think he got pretty sick from it when he got it last year. He mentioned he’s still having effects from it. Whether it’s that or old age or something else, i dont know, but he has looked like shite multiple times after getting out of the car this year.

He has a legitimate fear of testing positive. So should Max. Hamilton is right that a positive test would mean game over for the WDC.

Hamilton’s scared of a virus that he has 0% chance of dying from… a virus he got over within 2 weeks earlier this year. And I don’t for one second believe his “still suffering effects”. He’s such a drama queen.

I took it as he's scared of testing positive and not being allowed to race.

Which is exactly what he said in the post where I quoted him on the last page of the thread. What he said is valid and anyone that goes beyond the context of the statement is being silly.

Not even himself. There is a somewhat gentleman's agreement that if one team can't race then none will. So if there were an outbreak in one of the teams it could spell the end of the season.

Is there? So if one is then went down, would the FIA delay the last 2 races or just end it?

I guess it depends on how everything goes down. Is it a self-inflicted issue or something out of their control.

Australia 2020 Mclaren was the first to bail because members were testing positive. The rest of the teams were backing out because they viewed it as all or none. F1 eventually had their hand forced, but many teams were on record saying they weren't going.

Also, going back to the infamous Indy there was a lot of "we don't go if you don't go" amoung the Michelin cars before Michelin stepped in. Sort of if you have legitimate concerns on safety we will stand together.

However, the Bridgestone cars were going to run no matter what because they were of the opinion the tire issue was self inflicted.

If it is just Max that tests positive I doubt it would stop anything. Which is sort of what Hamilton was saying.

So the Netflix show has sent me down a week long rabbit hole of F1 content. Had no idea there was so much drama and pettiness in an F1 season.

I'm hooked.

I give my wife hell about all the petty shite on all of those housewives shows. I’m waiting for the day she throws the Toto/Horner and other F1 drama back at me.

Sometimes Sunday is the most boring part of the F1 week.

Reading some of the comments from the drivers, I have little faith in RB this weekend. Comments about this track being the fastest they've encountered will bode well for Hamilton's new engine and straight up speed.
