Demarcus Ayers skipping his senior year and going pro is gonna hurt the Coogs bigtime IMO.
Dude was the best player on the field in the Peach Bowl IMO.

I was asking basically does it feel weird for fans of Texas schools (A&M somewhat excluded) to want what Texas has (or be what Texas is) even after seeing how awful it can become.
I'm struggling to convey the question. But it's basically about envying something so terrible because what got it to be terrible was pretty great.
ETA: I feel like I have a decent question to ask without the capacity for the thought required to ask the question right now
I get what you're asking, and it took a long time for it become that way for UT (and we have our own issues in our program with boosters as well). In the case of Baylor and TCU they have head coaches who are pretty much legends now among the boosters and fans in a way that even Mack Brown wasn't at Texas, so I don't think they'll ever let a faction of fans get bigger than them. What will be interesting is when those guys retire.
For UH it will be interesting to see where this goes. If Herman wants to stick around they could go on a run of success that would lead them into major conference at some point. They've had a recruiting base advantage over their competition for quite some time but now that's widening with how good Herman is on the trail. They open with OU at NRG next year which is going to be awesome. They will be more pumped up for that game than they were for FSU

UH just needs to join the Big 12 and continue the reformation of the SWC.

Aren't some of Herman's recruits not likely to qualify?
Thought I read that somewhere. Maybe I just hoped for it![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

I wouldn't call it "reformation", but the Big 12 could be like the SWC post-SMU and post-Arkansas.

I hope he doesn't take the JT boys spot

Good for him going to a better program in Texas.
