In the NFL at least. I agree this season has been very meh so far.
It has been VERY meh.

I legitimately can't tell you a game I'm the NFL that I've been excited for.

I also can't tell you how excited I am for MSU UGA.

Watching conferences shake out in college is infinitely more intriguing than the NFL regular season.

People talk about parity vs. disparity - mocking the college game for disparity between the halves and the halves-not...and well, it doesn't help the perception that we had the same two teams play a MNC game two years in a row.

But...all the faults of college football - it's watchable - look at last weekend.

NFL is unwatchable - look at last weekend. The product has become almost like it's giving you the middle finger during the entire game - and you're getting the middle finger as a football fan.

College embraces the fans and their criticisms.

NFL tells them to obey or frick off.

it is like they are holding back not trying to get hurt or hurt somebody else. it is not the same game it used to be but it is safer for the players

The NFL is completely oversatured. Football season used to feel special, but the NFL's policy of trying to be in people's lives 12 months a year is backfiring.

NFL never goes away. The draft, training camp, preseason, games on Thursday, Sunday, Monday, it has a numbing effect.

The product on the field is also completely sterile and corporate.

The business aspect of pro football has crushed the competitive sport aspect. There used to be a much healthier balance.

College football still has genuine emotion and passion in it.

they have college games on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. And sometimes even on Tuesday or Wednesday (MAC conference) I think it is.

I sat there and watched my school (South Alabama) get taken to the woodshed by Oklahoma St. the other Friday night. About the only cool thing to take away from the game was that we scored (Woohoo!!) and I got to watch an Okie St. team who has a chance to be a playoff team this year. But other than that.. it was a lifeless crowd and I don't know why in the hell we'd pay them at home! I'd rather the team go up there 2 years in a row and play. Never a good idea to play a team you have no shot at beating at home. The next time we play a bigger school like that I'll bet the turnout will be worse. No one wants to come see their team get fricking whopped up on!!!!!

Agree!! but I also think College Football has sold out some too. There are way too many bowl games (oversatured).. all about the money.

The playoffs are cute and all but its just a new way for more money to roll in.

a shite ton of bowl games in college followed by recruiting coverage, spring football, media day coverage, and fall camp updates. I can't bear listening to local
sports radio talk College Football year round.

I'm not saying the NFL is better (cause I'm well aware its faded) but some of the crap spewed on here trying to one up the Pro game is just laughable.

High school football is the only thing keeping me from absolutely hating football right now. LSU and Saints suck while St Amant has been rising the last few years

The over whelming fantasy football talk has turned me away, I quit playing when that bored me 5-6 years ago but have reached a point I can't even bare to listen to it.

i started playing it in 2001 and to be honest it took me a few years to really start enjoying it. I liked the actual games more back then and if someone on my team did good.. cool.

but now other than Saints games and fantasy football, I don't follow the league like I used to. Its really not the big of a deal I don't think. Whenever I hear someone start talking about their fantasy team I don't get bothered by it. There was a time when I did but now... shite.. why get annoyed about something like that?

if anything football is an awesome secondary conversation at a party or at a bar anyway. I'm used to people not caring about sports (football mainly) like I do even though my interest has scaled down some. I prefer when someone else brings it up now instead of me going off on some random tangent

Are you a Bama fan talking about oversaturation?
I'm 23 and have lived in AL my entire life. This fricking state is AU/UA the entire frickING YEAR. College football is a religion to this state. It's one of the reasons I'm leaning NFL more and more these days, because even if the NFL is oversaturated, it's not as bad as CFB in AL.

Also, passion? Oh yeah, I really bet all those 5 stars at Bama are playing there because Bama is such a great school and location and that applies to every major program. We all know players are getting paid with their eyes set on going pro. To say otherwise is laughable. Just because players make it to the NFL doesn't mean their passion is suddenly gone.

As for the business aspect, CFB is milking every fricking dollar it can. Again, players are getting paid so lol at that, also the insanely stupid number of bowl games which are no more than exhibition matches, and the fact that virtually over half of CFB is eliminated from the playoffs before the season even starts.

I could add more, but I imagine the point is made.

Staying horizontal on a couch from 11:00am on Sat. to 1:00am on Sunday has lost it's luster for me.
