For all of you who are trashing Adam Jones and supporting Mike Leach, think about this..

It is not that Leach singles Jones out and had him locked in a closet to 'tech him a lesson' 'haze him' whatever, he may very well have been a pain in the coaches arse... no, it is the precedent it sets for the team, and an indication of Leaches character..

Say your son is Eric Stephens, a walk on running back, and is in an up tempo practice he catches a knee to the head and thinks he got a 'stinger' or even a mild concussion, but after seeing the way Leach and his staff treated Jones, he decides to let it go and not tell a trainer out of fear of being humiliated or even getting cut because Coach Leach thinks he was dogging it. The next time the scout team goes out he get knocked unconscious, has a serious brain injury, or is paralyzed.

Still think Coach Leach was being reasonable???

I think it's pretty clear that this NEVER happened, and I agree with Kafka.

I couldn't help myself. It wouldn't get the same exposure if I had posted in someone else's thread.

Besides, you looked didn't you?

as long as my son didnt go out to practice the next day wearing sunglasses, not dressed in team gear, and acting like the same piece of shite he had been for his entire time at texas tech, he wouldnt have anything to worry about.

so no, i still dont have a problem with what leach did. because my son would never act like adam james.

In your scenario Eric Stephens has worked his arse off to be a walk-on and probably hustles to make sure he gets to stay on the team. James, by all accounts, does none of the above.

We need more Leach threads and I took a formal statement to that effect:

james wasn't punished for having a concussion

your thread has no point

Where you been homey? I was worried -- do you realize Lester Earl is only 67,000 posts behind you now?

If Leach's contract negotiations would have gone better last year, it wouldn't have mattered if he taped Adam James to the goalpost's.......he would still be their coach today (although, he would have been suspended).

Adam James and his career along with his family's reputation will be collateral damage in the Texas Tech administrative agenda. Craig James is probably just realizing this about now.

I wonder if TTU knew about this type of stuff. I really couldn't understand why it took so long to get the contract finalized. That and the bonus he was set to receive if he was still the coach on Dec. 31 were kind of odd to me

They knew he was a flake. They did not want to pay him. They succumbed to public pressure. Leach had his best season last year and was as populoar with the fanbase as ever. Beating Texas and keeping them out of the NC game was MONSTER leverage.
