re: Flashback to the 1st BCS Standings of 2007 - The craziest season in CFB history

I know I covered it in the OP, but it worth stating again - the University of Kansas finished 12-1, #7 in the final AP poll including a 1st place vote to go along with an Orange Bowl victory. That actually happened. In football.
On another note, a year like 2007 is a worst case scenario for the playoff committee. Ohio State would be in, but the other 3 would have come from LSU, UGA, Oklahoma, VT, and USC. No matter how you slice it, you will leave out a legitimate candidate.

Rutgers beat Louisville on Thursday night with an Ito kick and they stormed the field.
BC lost on a Saturday because Jags screwed around.

What part of that post makes you think I'm upset.
well, this

stafford and Moreno were frauds. Georgia was such a fraud that year.
was just way out of left field. Stafford and moreno were clearly not frauds...Stafford threw for 2500 yards (not great, but decent) and knowshon ran for more yards than any uga back since garrison hearst.
Just seemed kinda weird to say that those 2 in particular and our team were "frauds".

Don't think so. Can you link it?

Wasn't this the year Juice Williams put Ohio State away with the worlds longest drive to milk the clock?
Posted on 10/16/15 at 3:04 pm to Chillini
Yes and got drlled in Pasadena.

What I would give to go back to this year. Obviously nothing will top the Orange Bowl but putting up 76 (48 in the 1st half) on Nebraska was something I'll never forget. Oh how things have changed

I remember all of those BS holding calls in the Pitt/WV game like it was yesterday.

Yes! I was trying to remember who they beat. I just remember the kicker pointing at the skycam after he hit the kick

Highlight of that game was Benn chucking the football at the USC band on the lone good play for Illinois.

It's also interesting to note how little success those schools were able to build using 2007 as a jumping off point. Obviously WVU is in a different class than the rest, but within 4 years the other six were putting up awful win totals.

Anyone else remember June Jones calling Tim Tebow a "system qb" when trying to lobby for Brennan?

I'm sorry but in no way was Georgia a fraud that year. Don't be silly. You might be thinking of '08
And Kansas was fricking

No because you edited it...worried about your e rep with strangers or worried i would ra (I didn't)
I'm not sure which is more pathetic
And I mentioned it because Stafford was a fraud, he was benched last week, and other than one season of chunking it up to Calvin Johnson, he's sucked.

Reesing was the best Big 12 qb that year

Fun fact: Kansas scored 76 points in blowouts over Nebraska in both basketball and football that year.

Wait, hold up. I'm quoting this because I want everyone to really see that you're saying these words.
You think that stafford was a fraud in 2007 as a true sophomore in college, and as proof you point to his performance last week with the lions?
Holy hell son, you aren't too bright are you?

They were in the fact that Moreno was being talked about like fournette is now, and the fact that they weren't close to being the best team in CFB despite many people saying that they were. It's just an opinion, something I distinctly remember. Theu didn't even win the east

He was being talked abotu as potentially the best RB in the country, which he had somewhat of a case for during a small stretch. Also helped he had a few highlight runs. Nobody is making him out to be the best player on earth like people are saying about fournette.

well they finished 2nd so they were somewhat close. Finished with the same number of losses as LSU as well.

neither did bama in 11. I guess that means there's no way they could be the best team in the country. Oh, wait......

I think Georgia was a fraud by virtue of two overrated players. It is currently closer to mind because he was benched. He was also overrated in the NFL until recently.
yeah, they can't just read my post.
why do you WANT them to see it? A word comes to mind, but I'll refrain. This goes back to that keeping things in perspective talk we had.
