Final day of the MLB season watch thread

Two separate playoff spots decided today
Phillies play Tampa in about 30 min and make the postseason if they win or if Arizona loses
Dbacks play San Diego tonight and make the postseason if they win AND the Phillies lose
Astros play the As in about an hr and make the playoffs if they win or if Texas loses
Rangers play the Twins at essentially the same time and make the postseason if they win AND the Astros lose
Pretty crazy all these games come down to one day for two spots

In the old days they had pennants and division titles determined on the last day of the regular season.

Also believe that if the Astros make the playoffs while losing today, they would be the first team in baseball history to make the postseason with a losing record in a full time regular season

They actually gonna be able to get this one in? What a clusterfrick. Both teams should have been on the first flight to Pittsburgh after the game last night so they could start this at 3:05 with no issues.

If they cant play the game they need to just mercifully end the Phllies season after this past week

AL is absolutely nuts. Insane that the Guardians are the 2-seed.
They are in the midst of an amazing stretch for a bottom of the barrel team in terms of payroll. I realize it’s not going to yield a title, but it’s more impressive than the Moneyball A’s.

How the Brewers continue to be competitive is also pretty incredible
Pretty sure only 3 of the top 5 payrolls are making the postseason which is wild when it's never been easier to get in

No, no. They need to play tomorrow, have Wheeler, Luzardo, and Duran pitch multiple meaningful innings each, and squeak out a win in about 15 innings.

Need to go back to 2 divisions in each league. Makes it harder for this to happen.
Manfred will probably go to 8 divisions of 4 teams since it's the worst possible decision.
