Gotta remember they tried to build a whole stadium in the span of a year. Building Tiger Stadium would have been difficult. This is a good foundation and allows for some tweaking down the line.

I understand I am not comparing the two. I am not a huge fan of the Tiger Stadium SEZ expansion either but I guess I was expecting more from it. That press box is hideous, I was expecting a much more modern feel.

Looks a lot better in those pictures. Really nice. The press box is still bothering me though it just don't seem to fit in there.

I think what essentially happened was they stuck the press box over there so that the camera shots of the game wouldn't only have the short stands on the student side.

I bet if the neighbors has agreed to let Tulane build higher all around the press box would be with the suits.

If the Tulane can keep their upward trajectory and the American scores a bigger deal next go around (enabling more palm greasing w/local officials) I bet they will change some things up.

Usually hate this kind of stuff, but I kind of like it. Hopefully I'll be able to catch a game there.

Really like the direction Tulane's program is heading in.

Yulman stadium's capacity is 30,000. Tiger stadium was at 30,000 in 1936. It took 64 years before tiger stadium reached over 90,000. You think Yulman will ever get that big?

Never, and for a couple reasons. First, it will take a very long time for that 30,000 to get filled consistently. Next is no room to expand.

Anyone know if they announced anything about HS games? I would love to see some top local teams square off there.

It may not be an option, but there have been at least a few late round HS playoff games in the NOLA area that would have greatly benefited from a venue like this.

Looks cool BTW.

Tulane can host HS games at Yulman on weeks they don't play home games. The agreement was something to the extent that there would be no more than one game per week. I assume that means if Tulane plays on a Thursday night that it means no HS game can be played on Friday or Saturday. Tulane also can host a post season game in the stadium. Whether that is a bowl game or an all-star game of some sort. Tulane won't host HS games this year because during away games and bye weeks there will still be construction going on. Finishing touches here and there and that time is for tweaking things this first year when it will be chaos. I guess there could be a slight chance a HS game or two could end up there towards the end of the season or playoffs.

I like what they did with the premium seats and endzones.

Will NIMBYs allow that if it's not Jesuit/Brother Martin/Newman playing?

The thing is, what high schools would take home games away from their stadiums to play at Tulane... I dont think Karr or Landry Walker will move games bc their west bank fanbase would go nuts. Newman, De La Salle, McMain, and Lusher don't play big games. Pan Am is a good venue for smaller NOLA schools, and no one in another parish would move.

Maybe have John Curtis tv showcase games there?

For some reason that I can not identify, I like that stadium.

Good point. Newman and Lusher have on campus stadiums. Possibly McMain or DLS, maybe Ben Franklin? I doubt the Orleans Parish Catholic schools leave Gormley.

A McMain-Lusher Battle of Nashville Ave @ Yulman would be a nice draw.

Except those schools don't have the fanbases for it... Tad Gormley is too tied into the history of the Catholic League, but it's crumbling and is not a good venue any longer. Maybe they move one Saturday night Gormley game to Friday night at Tulane
