Was it really that much of a burden to care?
It is very likely I won't watch another soccer game from (nearly) start to finish again until the next WC (if even that). But the games provided something to watch in the otherwise most boring part of the sports calendar. The US losing didn't ruin my day or anything like that. But it's not as if I was having to exert a ton of physical and mental energy to "care" about soccer
