Let him go to Japan and make the big bucks and never really test himself on a consistant basis like he would have to do in the UFC. He will find fighters here and there but nothing like he would in the UFC.
the american ethnocentrism in this thread is amusing

IMHO i believe the only way he signs is if UFC heavies start calling him out as a bjtch. Steroids and ego will make it irresistable for him to sign FWIW

What?

TulaneTigerFan thinks that people who believe that the UFC is the best MMA organization in the world that can offer the most consistent challenging fights for fighters are idiots.

yeah...the freak shows in Japan are a much better organization than the UFC. damn americans...who do they think they are?

- The UFC offered Fedor a 6 fight, 30 million dollar contract. That's 5 mil a fight
- The UFC offered Fedor an immediate title shot
- Lesnar/Fedor would be the biggest PPV in MMA history (we assume), and the UFC offered M-1 Global a cut of the PPV on top of Fedor's purse.
- Fedor was free to wear as many M-1 logoed items as he wished.
- The UFC also relented on allowing Fedor to compete in combat sambo.
Apparently, for good or bad, M-1 refuses to sign a deal unless the UFC agrees to co-promote
As far as the mob connection, supposedly his brother was/is an enforcer for the russian mob and was in prison because of it. I'm sure the mob has some type of stake in Fedor.

was about to say that.
dana needs to urge Lesnar to use his WWE call out skills to bait Fedor.

I am not sure Fedor gets pissed.
If anyone can do it though, I think Lesnar is the man.

Someone does need to translate what Lesnar is saying. If that is Finkel, I am sure he will say that Lesnar is saying that he "is very much scared of the big Russian Fedor. Please stay away from the UFC. We suck."

Fedor doesnt speak English but I'm sure he knows as many English words as Brock. No translator needed.

"BROCK SMASH" isn't that hard to figure out huh?

Japan = Freakshow Fights.
The UFC will provide Fedor with the top talent from around the world, not just Hong-Man Choi type fights. The UFC will become the best HW in the world because the UFC has the bucks to make it so. If you think that the UFC will continue to let him fight cans then you are a fool.
Even Brock didn't get it easy and he makes half of what Fedor would have.

whoa whoa whoa.....they do put on freakshows but to say all Japan has to offer to MMA is a freakshow fight.....that's idiotic.
Watch a Dream card one day...you will see some excellent fighters in all divisions.

that's all he's done in his career?
I want Fedor in UFC bad...but I think it's alot more out of his control than people think.
also...Brock has beat while ni UFC
1) Couture..great fighter...but a true LHW that only went into HW because he knew he wasn't going to win LHW belt again..and took advantage of weak division (I love Randy...fav fighter)
2) Herring. Not a bad fighter...not great
3) Mir. A fighter who has never really lived up to his potential....I will give Brock a good win though because Mir was actually dedicated to a fight. I'm interested to see where Mir goes from here as far as work ethic though.
So it isn't like Brock ahs beat somebody in their prime.......or even a strong striker.
Randy laid the gameplay on how to beat Brock...and I would love to see Brock vs Randy round 2 fwiw

Update*****
Apparently the initial reports of the UFC offer were way off.

Guess we will find out more (probably more he said, she said) at the UFC presser tomorrow...
Apparently the initial reports of the UFC offer were way off.
quote:
“I can say that the guaranteed -- and the word ‘guaranteed’ is of great importance here -- the guaranteed offer made by the UFC is less than what Fedor made before,” Raimond said. “The five-million (per fight) is way, way, way out of range. Half of that is even way out of range of what they offered.”

Little more from that article also:
quote:
Raimond noted that the M-1 team was disheartened to learn that “unsubstantiated rumors” had been disseminated, and that Internet readers were willing to believe them at face value.
“Sometimes the fans don’t realize that there is a business to run and all these statements, ‘These M-1 idiots, why don’t they just give Fedor to the UFC because they’ve offered him the best money?’ This is a completely unsubstantiated rumor that the UFC has offered the best money for Fedor ever. This is just not the case.”
Raimond emphasized that negotiations with the UFC had been fruitful, even though the fundamental disagreement over co-promotion between the two organizations remains.
“We had a very professional, productive and respectful meeting with the UFC,” Raimond said. “I think both parties walked away (knowing) even though a deal wasn’t made, that a very decent meeting was had.”
