I agree. I was listening to Pat McAfee Show live when they found out & between Pat and AJ Hawk they both made it seem like NFL has always educated players how strict they are about this. It's not like half of the NFL has been signing up for all of these online betting apps and didn't know it wasn't allowed.

Nor was there evidence suggesting any awareness by coaches, staff, teammates, or other players of his betting activity.
shouldn't the coach have known?

If he was away from the team, why does this matter enough for a full season suspension?
Because, the league cares more about this, than anything else

How many times have we heard about a player getting a huge suspension/fine after a video of something off field came to light only for the league/team to acknowledge they already knew about it and were "investigating it". Yet, the player wasn't suspended/fined when they first found out about the incident
Yep. The shield is gonna protect the shield. They view this as an attack on the integrity of the league. But we'll let domestic abusers and guys charged w/murder back into the NFL w/open arms.

No. He was on the IR and away from the team.

A source informed of the NFL's investigation into Calvin Ridley's gambling tells me the bets did involve the #Falcons.
The NFL's statement says the investigation "uncovered no evidence indicating any inside information was used or that any game was compromised in any way."

Eek, lucky he wasn’t given the Pete Rose treatment

He needed all that time off to study his picks.

Schefter said it was a November game. Only win was against the Saints and 3 terrible losses against the Cowboys, Pats, and Jags.

He should’ve just bet on the Rams and the NFL would’ve just let it go.

Ah man that’s not going to help you
