That is very debatable when comparing to Stephs step back 3s
I laughed everytime they showed Curry highlights over Delly. It is impressive he can shoot so well, but I think it is a stretch to claim that those plays are more exciting than AD catching lobs or just dunking on someone.
High flying Dunkers are a dime a dozen in the NBA.... Steph curry does some shite I've never seen before, many people already have him pegged as the greatest shooter of all time.

There's obviously some bias here, but catching a lob or dunking is done by players all across the league every night. People don't do what steph does every night

Plus what Steph does is a lot easier to mimic by kids playing in their driveway. Kids can't really pretend to be AD, KD, or LeBron.

Because Steph's game will really struggle to translate into the late stages of his career....
I think you may be underestimating how important it is for him to be able to create as a slightly undersized guard. He's explosive, not necessarily in the paint, but in terms of creating a shot. That aspect will probably suffer past his prime and he will have to rely on being a pure shooter IMO.

are Curry and Harden still better than Lebron or did you change your mind?
Posted on 6/17/15 at 3:37 am to ReauxlTide222
I've literally never said that. I was in thread just last week mocking the idea of Steph being better than Lebron. I was the first post in a thread tonight saying Id take Bron over Kobe. You really need to stop acting like I am Jimithing or some of these other ridiculous Lebron haters.
I never post in the dumb GOAT threads or mock his ability as a player. You need to get over this idea that just because I don't say he is the greatest of all time or that his team is going to win every game that I can't appreciate his greatness as a player.

I'm not going to be that guy, and I have never gone through someone's posts in my life, but I promise you said exactly that, to me, about 2 months ago.
I don't care if you think he's the best ever. I'm not even sure if I think he's the best ever.

i think curry is a big star, i just don't ever see him being the biggest star. as a person, i just don't see him being that charismatic or polarizing enough to really root for him or against him.
AD is much the same way. he's too nice of a kid. and let's face it, that unibrow'ed mug won't be the face of the game.
I think it will be Lebron until he retires. Kind of like Tiger Woods is still the face of golf, even though he's terrible. Lebron isn't terrible and will dominate the stage until he's gone. Which could be another 5-10 years.
In the meantime, someone else will come along. Someone who inspires us.

Because you are wrong. I might have said Curry was the best player in the league this season because he was. I've never once stated Id take him over Bron or that he is a better player.

KD if Lebron retires relatively soon, but after that, it's tough.
It depends if Steph keeps his core squad together. He benefits infinitely from Klay being there on the off chance that he's playing like shite. Steph does some insane things, but when he IS off, he's a ghost. I think he stays at a high level, but he won't be the face of the league because of what his game is. At the end of the day, he's an out of this world shooter and makes insane plays, but I don't think he's that much more outstanding than someone like Chris Paul as a guard. Elite 1s are always going to be making circus layups, ridiculous passes, and knocking down shots. As impressive as his consistency is, the face of the league isn't just on skill or consistency. Other guys can do what he does, albeit not nearly as well or consistent. The only way I see him as THE face of the league and big ticket of the NBA is if the team sticks together and keeps winning titles.
A major part of it is that big, physical dominant play style with big dunks, blocks, and whatnot. With Lebron, it's just impossible to imagine how a guy that massive could be that athletic and amazing at basketball. With Jordan, people blown away by the insane dunks, the scoring clinics, and his refusal to lose. The face of the NBA isn't necessarily the MVP. It's more about being a great player that delivers those larger than life, freakish spectacles.
Honestly, barring a lot of injuries or sharp decline in his game, AD is much more suited to the "face of the league" title. He's big, athletic, dominant, and just makes those insane plays around the rim that make casual fans go "Wow!" I'm not saying he's a better player than Steph or more impressive player than him, but I think that if his game continues to improve at the current pace, a really special once-in-a-generation player would need to come along to really be a better fit than AD.
Nothing makes casual fans want to watch the NBA more than big dunks, blocks, and freakish athleticism, and AD is the prototypical player of that mold. For example, /r/nba on Reddit worships the ground AD walks on and a lot of them support the Pelicans as a second team as a result of it. It's not uncommon to see gifs after every Pelicans game of some retarded play by AD with a ton of comments about how incredible he is. He's just one of those guys whose game seems unnatural. He could end up falling off and doing nothing, but as it stands, he's a special player.
I guess I'm biased, though, because to me Shaq early in his career was one of the most brain melting players that I've ever seen. Seeing a guy knock down shots, throwing shots into the bleachers constantly, and then running the floor to throw it down who is that massive is just mindblowing to me. Dude was so good, he made Kobe taste his arse and asked him for a review of it. That's what kind of player is a face of the league type guy to me. Big, dominant, and concern for how his arse tastes for teammates.
TL;DR: I'm an AD fanboy and want him to take over the NBA and possibly become head coach and GM of the Pelicans while still a player to lead us to 20 years of uncontested titles.

Where are you getting this shite?
That is like the last argument I would ever make. Harden's my least favorite player in the league.

Bro I swear this happened! I remember so well because you said it to ME.

I had them ranked ahead of Lebron for the MVP, but so did the MVP voters. I'd never say they are better players.

Not AD. The face of anything shouldn't have a unibrow.
Posted on 6/17/15 at 7:42 am to DWaginHTown
Bro, that unibrow is the bridge that will unite humanity to create a better world. Next ten years, face of the NBA. Beyond that, face of a new era of peace and prosperity.
