This doesn't necessarily mean much considering he was probably most of these players idols growing up.
True story.

They could play on a goddamn sheet of ice and Rafa would win. Fed just can't beat Nadal. There's no arguing around it.

'08, '10, and '13 weren't too shabby for Rafa. But, if we are going to talk about great years, I don't think even Fed's years with 3 majors match up to Djokovic '11 (or McEnroe '84).

I disagree best at peak.
Fed in his prime was complete domination. In 05 fed wasn't broken once in Wimbledon.
And?

Good thing nobody cares about tihs.
Also, I disagree. Rafa still has the title to the land in Fed's headspace.

Fed 2006 is the second best tennis season ever only to 1969 Rod laver. And it aint a discussion

That was common for fed. That's why in his prime he'd racked up on titles so much.

Did you catch the federer serve break down before the match. They basically had a graph which showed the position of every toss and then where each serve was actually placed on the court. His different serve tosses and the way he disguises the serves is masterful.

Fed went 81-4 with 2 grand slam titles in 2005
Fed went 92-5 with 3 grand slam titles in 2006
so in two years he went 173-9 with 5 grand slam titles. Please tell me his peak years werent the best.....

Federer left his prime after 2009. The rivalry was 13-7 Nadal at that point. If you break that down, it's 9-2 on clay to Nadal, and 5-4 Fed on all other surfaces.
There is no disputing that Nadal is the greatest clay court player ever. But you need to consider age as a factor.
I think you need to define GOAT. Is it prolonged excellence? Do you go Walter Payton or Gayle Sayers/Jim Brown. Or Barry Sanders?
Fed is the prettiest player I've ever seen. It looks effortless and graceful. Nadal is the most imposing at his best. The shots he could hit, could not be replicated. Head-to-head matters, but is the ultimate criteria? Who would I take in a match at their peak?
Clay - Nadal
Grass - Sampras
Hard - Fed/Laver/Sampras/Agassi/Djok
I think if Fed can win another 1 or 2 majors pushing 34, you have to consider him. I just wish Rafa would become a serve and volleyer. Finish points quicker and prolong his career.

10-23 versus Nadal.
Federer is five years older than Nadal. He's also won more grand slams than anyone in history.

Rafa is four years younger.
So in one post, you cite Federer's losing record vs. Nadal, then about two posts later state that Rafa's four years younger [It's actually 4 years, 10 months]. Seems like you're arguing against yourself.
They may be the two best tennis players of all time, but no one with a sound mind can say Federer's not tGOAT.

Nadal was still only 19. If Nadal had been two years older it looks just like Fed 2008.

Nadal in 08 still works him over like a small child.

Fed fans: please stop with this exercise.
Or do this. Find out what their record is outdoors. Report back.

Yeah, that's why his record against the top ten is the best in history.
