Explain to me why Yanks need Judge & Stanton

Seems like a huge waste of $69m (Judge $40m, Stanton $29m)

I don’t think they should play Stanton in these playoffs, but you’re crazy if you think Judge doesn’t add value.
Does he add value specifically in the playoffs? That’s a different question, but I think it’s still a no brainer to start him when healthy.

I can't see Judge being ready for the ALDS, and they'll need at least 12 pitchers on the roster instead of the 10 pitchers they used in the Wildcard round.
Might be a tough decision but I think they'll leave him off the roster in the division series again.

the Stanton contract made him untradeable and the Yankees would only be eating the rest of it - he will finish out his career with Yankees in 2027 assuming they even play
I would trade Judge and you can still get a decent return and Yankees can pay part of the contract

Judge is a five-tool player; he makes the Yankees better. The Yankees are winning because they have pitching and defense, unlike in past years. They did not need Judge for these games against the Red Sox, because Boston's pitching and defense was atrocious.

Judge punishes average to below average pitching and definitely makes them better over the course of a season. Maybe even enough to justify his yearly salary when he can play, but not over the course of that stupid contract.
And he's also not shown that kind of value in the playoffs period.
Red Sox were not good defensively, but I wouldn't throw stones in that glass house if I were a Yankees fan.

Miami is actually still paying a good chunk of his salary
