Why would the word ‘evolution’ be used in juxtaposition with development of a singular species and some random immutable difference in DNA?
It would be like ‘studying’ the ‘evolution’ of blue-eyed accountants.
Seems incredibly racist to even focus on such a question.
If anything, why not just focus on the changes of position and it’s demands over time?
TL;DR: Racist bullshite is racist and obsessing over superficial differences only exacerbates and perpetuates division - which is really the intent. All humans bleed red and most are dumb as a bag of hammers…

Is that why QB play in the NFL is down?
Also I'm with yall obviously. Why does skin color matter? Another completely racist show/documentary/movie.

As far I know blue-eyed accountants were never legally prohibited from doing accounting or were they systemically passed over for accounting jobs due to their eye color.

"Evolution" just refers to the opportunities available to Black QBs in today's version of the sport. Previously, Black QBs at the high school, college and pro levels either weren't given the opportunities to play (or even get drafted) at all, or were asked to switch to DB, WR etc. The era of Shack Harris, Marlon Briscoe and even Warren Moon were vastly different than opportunities now for Jayden Daniels, Bryce Young, Caleb Williams etc. It's not about Deoxyribose Nucleic Acid, but about the racism that existed then, that doesn't exist today.

Their skin color mattered in the 1920s through the 1990s... then things started to change in the sport, and in our society. The documentary celebrates the evolution of the sport, and the opportunities now provided to everyone, regardless of race. Nowadays, you just have to be able to play! That wasn't always the case.

They are really running out of “white man bad” shite, aren’t they?

Those guys you mentioned were just as dynamic, absolutely. But they struggled to get the opportunities to prove it. Bryce Young and Ant Richardson don't have those obstacles anymore and the documentary celebrates the journey from Marlon Briscoe all the way to Caleb Williams.
The Warren Moon saga was rough! His story was... unreal.

Some of you are such mentally soft snowflakes.
Is there too much focus on race these days by those who don't want to move forward? Sure.
But there's no doubt there has been an evolution over the years of college and NFL with black QBs, and not all of it is strictly a racism plane.
Black athletes tend to overall be faster than white athletes, fact. No shame in stating that. However, it took a progression in the game with the running game and RPOs to take better advantage of that. Randall Cunningham and Kordell Stewart weren't running offenses like Lamar Jackson and Jalen Hurts are.
Now...one drawback that's showing is if your QB is durable enough over the years of the hits to keep playing that way.
I didn't know this was a show, but now that I do, I'll watch. I won't need to go crawl into a safespace after.

I was just thinking the other day how black qbs have evolved since the days of Doug Williams and Randall Cunningham.
The Black QB was not given an opportunity to compete for the position. Hell Warren Moon had to go to the CFL before being accepted as a legitimate QB. When in college he had better numbers than most of those drafted before him.

I don't like marginalizing people based on race, it's seems racist.

That wasn't always the case: Black QBs used to get death threats just for trying to play. Thankfully for us, they're still alive to tell their stories.
