have a 2021 F150 Lariat. Comparaby equipped lightening would be about $23,000 - $26,000 more. That will buy a lot of gas. However, driving past the gas station and plugging in at home has a quality also.

TFL Truck channel on YT just road tripped a lightening from Detroit to Colorado, and they still spent a lot of money charging up at publicly available charge points.

Yeah. A lot of those public charging ports are as expensive as filling up.

An electric vehicle isn't improving what ICE vehicles already do, and in many ways some would argue its a step back.

Not yet. It’s amazing the advancements so far. I’m curious to see where the technology goes.

I would not have a problem with them changing batteries if they could engineer a quick change system. But they would be limited to only say 2 extra batteries. I wouldn't want to see them have a whole bank of spare batteries in the pit. It would be interesting to see.

This is a good take as it isn't for everyone. A lot of people on this board are a few years behind in their information.

Why is always the same politards that come and shite on every EV thread? Don't you have some Roe or Jan 6th thread to go rant at? There is no shortage of those.

You guys don't like EVs. We get it. There was a time when country didn't let anyone other than white land owners vote in elections before more people got suffrage. Times change. Technology advances. Humanity moves forward. You guys are fricking ridiculous.

350KW charging has changed the game with wait times. You can now charge to 80% in 15 minutes. Faster charging is also in the works which will bring the time down to under 10 minutes.

How long does it take to fill a tank of gas - about 5 minutes? Think of all of the millions of cars that need to refuel daily.

At minimum, you're going to have to double the current petroleum refueling infrastructure to meet the new requirements of EV charging -- just to keep people from needing to wait an 20 - 30 minutes before they get to begin their 10 minute charge.

And we haven't even begun to address the practical matter of areas that need to improve the power grid -- which is EVERYWHERE.

You're talking about adding the burden of 4 to 5 times the electric power needs when you replace gas-powered with EV.

EV is not the long-term solution. Especially when it will be 100% ignored by countries like India and China. Even the most liberal minded, forward-thinking person in India thinks the idea of EVs are a joke.
