Instead of complaining about the sport's lack of parity and how it's becoming as predictable as the NBA or women's college basketball, ask yourself this: Why wouldn't you want to watch Alabama play Clemson again?

quote:

Instead of grumbling about having to watch the No. 1 Crimson Tide play the No. 2 Tigers again, we should be embracing what they've accomplished during the CFP era and particularly this season. It has undoubtedly become the greatest rivalry in the sport -- they played in the CFP national semifinal last season, with Alabama advancing -- and it's probably not going to end anytime soon.

GTFO. I don’t know a single person who’s excited about this other than fans of the two teams, and most of them wish they were playing someone else. I absolutely love college football, but I don’t even know if I’m gonna watch this.

There's literally no other matchup that would be close and entertaining. The rest of the college football world sucks. This is the best possible matchup of good teams.

I’m sick of ESPN telling what to think, what bad actor players I should forgive celebrate and so on. Their comment section was toxic but now they don’t get ridiculed by their disappearing readership

It's going to be a really good game. Trevor Lawrence is the truth

People are bitching about the number of times Alabama and Clemson have played. How would Georgia be different in that regard?

Considering the millions they have on the line here, what else do you expect?

I think it's funny they acknowledge what they've done to the sport. This is what happens when you just promote one or two teams all year long. Mix in the WWE element and CFB is going down hill fast in terms of product. I still love the sport, but I watch it less and less. Didn't watch the CFB playoff again this year.

If the Fiesta Bowl takes a WWE turn like the aTm game did, I'll quit watching that too.

The is perhaps the most idiotic drivel in the entire article.

I'm a little tired of the matchup but I think the game itself will be good.

I do think the rest of college football has gotten pretty bad too. It just seems like the quality of play, overall, has diminished outside of these two teams plus a few others. I mean look at the God awful QB play in these bowl games.

I think there's an argument that college football peaked about a decade ago and has been regressing some since.

The need to write this article is very revealing as to the product they’re advertising.

Exactly. This is a damage control article, they are massively afraid of BCS 2011 ratings. Has the same feel, two good teams but a matchup no one outside of the two fan base want to see.

It doesn’t excite me at all. I’ll watch but won’t be invested in it. And I’m almost certain I’ll go to bed before it’s over.

They are the best 2 teams, and we've known that since training camp.

Another testament to the direction of CFB.

Considering college football’s history of dynasties, there nothing really unusual here.

I mean Alabama is so good it is ridiculous. Clemson at least has the talent to have a Buster Douglas chance

I probably won't be watching. I'm not actively avoiding it, but it isn't a game that I'll go out of my way to watch.
