Espn To cover SummerSlam?

Has to be better than rock paper scissors and cup stacking championships that have been covered on the network.

Something to keep an eye on over the next month is how much ESPN covers this year's WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view.
ESPN currently has two different viewpoints. Jonathan Coachman, the former WWE broadcaster turned ESPN analyst has pushed fans to contact ESPN with the idea of covering SummerSlam like it's a major sporting event. There are those in ESPN who have fallen for the idea that WWE is "hot" right now, despite the fact that ratings are at record low levels and live attendance is around its' usual levels.
ESPN is said to be feeling pressure because the company's revenues are dropping significantly. There are those who work for ESPN, however, that are completely against the network covering pro wrestling because of the fact that it's not a real sport.

I could see Wrestlemania or possibly wwe hall of fame but thats about it.
Wrestlemania would be around march madness though.

Main Event: Hogan and Skip Bayless vs DDP and Steven A

Preseason NFL will be underway and college football will be days away so I doubt they'll cover it too much. If it were this month that might be a different story.

I've noticed that ESPN has been more friendly about WWE events & news lately. Doesn't really bother me. It's already hard to take ESPN seriously anyway.

Makes you wonder how bad of shape espn is in currently.

Poor Katie Nolan gets less viewers than Grantland Podcast Youtube videos.

They cover ping pong, and other "sports" people dont care about. Why not cover SummerSlam?

I think it has more to do with espn losing money and subscribers

Same, but would watch depending on who they bring in like the rock or mayweather.

True they spend half their time on TMZ type issues,so go ahead and show it.
