Seems like they should have done them all at once this morning (which maybe they did, but the news is slowly leaking out based on when people are tweeting about it) if you ask me.

That's exactly what's happening. They emailed them. That seems callous but these people are all around the country so they can't just call them to HR.

Baseball and hockey seem to be the ones hit the hardest, along with college football (although they had a huge roster to work with).

Biggest names for me have been Jim Bowden, Jayson Stark, Danny Kannell, Trent Dilfer, Dana O'Neill, Brett McMurphy, and Ed Werder

So far is it all white people???? I mean damn ESPN

No, it isn't. ESPN is roughly 80% white males, so having roughly the same ratio in the layoffs should be expected.

Sorry to interrupt the circle jerk.

surprised more of the poli-board crowd isn't knighting for one of the few outspoken Christians and conservatives at ESPN

Seems like the poli board is doing a great job of rustling your jimmies.

Kanell brings nothing to the table. I don't know what ESPN saw there.

This statement could've been true years ago, but he really came into his own on R&K. I like him now. He trolls hard-core SEC fans so hard and it's hilarious.

Fox Sports actually covers CFB so they've probably already called Kanell. His trolling will probably get him a solo radio show too.

wouldn't mind sarah spain being on the list, God she's a miserable cow

they have some horrid ESPNW radio show on saturday morning. I caught a bit one time, in one segment they were bitching about not being taken seriously as women in sports....and in the very next segment went in depth about their dress plans for the ESPYs

You don't think that a sports media company has a large majority of white males as employees?

Are you suggesting they call all 100 people in a room and let them go at once?

Well it sounds like they are taking their time calling people to let them know they are out, which in turn is leading to this all coming out gradually as a spectacle.

I suppose twitter is really to blame.

Yeah and although Chris Berman wasnt fired he and Werder are gone. ESPN hires a blonde bimbo in Sam Ponder to replace Berman on Sunday Night Countdown. It's no longer important to be good at what you do on tv, just have arse and tits.

Quality of content has exacerbated the decline. It doesn't make much sense when those creating content have done as much as possible to alienate the core audience.

Nah, just interesting to note that people overlook his pro-Jesus stuff because he hates the SEC. Especially considering there is a large faction of people in this thread that believe ESPN's liberal bs is what is driving this.
