ESPN is courting Peyton Manning to join its Monday Night Football team, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

ESPN president Jimmy Pitaro and content chief Connor Schell made a trip to Denver on March 11 to meet with Manning, who has been mentioned before for a broadcast role. But it’s unclear whether Manning is interested in pursuing a career as an analyst at this time. He’s done some player breakdowns for the ESPN+ plus show Detail. He’s also a successful television pitchman, showing off some comedic chops in spots for Nationwide Insurance, Papa John’s and Mastercard.

We would be lucky to have him on MNF. I always thought he’d be in coaching at some point though.

I would be down but they better be ready and willing to write a solid 8 figure per year check for his services.

Extremely insight, funny, camera-ready and comfortable.

So, basically polar opposite of Witten

Probably the only guy who could erase the wrongs of last year’s crew.

Lol.

Coaching requires ridiculous hours and pressure. Manning is already ridiculously loaded. He can make a bunch of money without that type of pressure.

Manning was basically made for the booth. He would be awesome at it. I think Romo is super overrated and Peyton would definitely be better than him imo.
