Are you serious??????????
quote:Not the same but you damn well better believe the talking head would chalk it up to ole Lucky Les if the shoe was on the other foot.
Do you honestly equate Cal's missed field goal with LSU winning a game SOLELY because UT had 13 men on the field, caused by LSU's own 3-ring circus????????
quote:Debatable….But judging by how many question marks and your response it appears if you are not already there you are close.
Are you out of your mind??????????
quote:Shouda coulda...
Cause even if the FG had been made Oregon had 10 minutes to answer??????????
quote:15 points??? OoooKay...
Maybe, just maybe, Oregon gets a break because they have an offense that can actually score points????????
quote:Now you quoting the Exorcist??
Jesus frick..............
quote:Obscure OSU reference? Really?
The SEC's a tough conference and LSU's played a tougher sked than Orgeon, but frick, one team looks like No. 1 and the other team has played Craig Krenzel ball all year....

15 points??? OoooKay...
Im pretty sure Oregon's offense only scored 9 of those points (1 TD + PAT & 1 2PT CONV after punt return)

If you're going to talk about the Oregon game why don't you also mention the fact that Oregon only scored 1 touch down on offense?
I'm in tears...
Are you kidding???
Is the helium of us scoring 51 against ULM (with 250 yards of total O) too much for you????????
This is Oregon....
they've lapped us in offense about 100 times this year

Most of the talking heads on ESPN just don't like the SEC. SEC...CBS ESPN....ABC

Minus the 15-year, $2 billion contract that ESPN has with the SEC.
Simply put, ESPN's agenda is ratings. They want to build to hype and drama, regardless of the participants. They don't have any direct control over the polls.

Oregon's had one close game all year.
LSU has won multiple close games filled with coaching gaffs.
You're an idiot.
ETA: I guess you don't consider Scott Van Pelt and ESPN radio to be part of ESPN, because he has basically told the country that he's in love with Les Miles.

I was discussing this today with someone who has a phd in rhetoric. Oh, by the way, thats my major as well... I could just post my 10 page paper on this when im done if that suffices for a "test."
lulz...what?

you probably wouldn't make it through my first paragraph.
Yeah, that's true, if you wrote a paper on the agenda of ESPN, I wouldn't read past the first paragraph.

espn HAS to keep the rest of the country interested in football. oregon is just a red herring. so is tcu and boise.
espn KNOWS the BCS is heavily weighted to the SEC because of the SOS.
they would loose the rest of the country watching ESPN if everyone realized that they told the TRUTH and no one has a legitimate shot at the BCS N.C.
imho

In his book "Bowls, Polls, and Tattered Souls" Stewart Mandel speaks of the influence ESPN has on poll voters. Since most Harris Poll and Coaching Poll voters are covering only one team, they rely heavily on ESPN for their information. ESPN delivers college football news via short highlights and "professional" analysis. Mandel says ESPN is fully aware of and exploits this influence. For example, now that ESPN/ABC is televising all the BCS games, it is in their interest to push for games that are most appealing to advertisers. If Madison Ave tells ESPN/ABC that an Alabama-USC game would bring $5 million per commercial in ad dollars versus a TCU-West Va game where $2 million per commercial would be the optimum amount, what mathcup would ESPN push for?
BTW, isn't it interesting that ESPN actually owns three bowl games?

It's a grand conspiracy against the SEC and moreso LSU.

Anyone have any theories on ESPN's motive?
I just skimmed your OP the first time, sort of misread it, but either way...it's pretty obvious that as a cable TV network, ESPN wants the most viewers, in the biggest regions, or the story that most people will follow, to be watching the games they air. They sell teams with big demographics. They don't give a shite about the teams in the game, they care about the number of people that will watch those teams in that game.

And in the case of CFB they can try to influence the matchups. They can't do that in any other sport because every other championship is determined on the field.

yes its all due to George Soros and the NWO.

Why does Utah get ranked all the way up to #5
they were undefeated, kind of hard to keep them low with BSU and TCU so high, now they are down to 24 or so. and btw, TCU fell in the human polls this week.

My problem is not with ESPN it is with Robert Smith
This. Smith has an ongoing campaign to convince voters to treat LSU as a two loss team.

I just think it's funny that every fan base in America is convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt that ESPN and the media has a clear bias against their team.
When I lived in DC and Colorado fans bitched about bias toward the SEC all the time.
One thing I don't get is the obsession with the ESPN's "obsession" for Boise, and if anything a fan of a school like LSU, with all the resources, facilities, money, and exposure in the world to bitch about others succeeding is pretty pathetic. It's like McDonalds bitching about Frank's Restaurant and how they can prove them make a better burger by a quantitative study they had paid for to determine this fact.
In case you don't know, Boise is the 85th most populated metro area in the US, and 350 miles from any other city of worth (Salt Lake City). The media "hypes" Boise because the never lose games and often win by 40 plus points. That's it.
If they truly loved Boise, they would vote them No 1. They do not. Boise's success and "respect" this year is the result of 10 years of being ignored and winning the most games of any program in that time.

I personally have found it interesting that ESPN is the one personally banging the drum on the Cam Newton scandal, but they kept their heads buried in the sand when it came to Reggie Bush.

Espns dream matchup would be an sec team vs a west coast team. They do not want 2 west coast teams or 2 sec teams because then they will lose viewers in the region that isnt represented

this is my problem with espn. you actually think robert smith writes what he says on tv? you think his true thoughts are allowed to be heard? i dont like him one bit because he is a biased homer, but it is someone behind the camera that controls what goes on the screen. he just reads what someone elses types. i have even quit watching gameday because it so poorly run now. you can tell that they rarely say an unpracticed word.
