The past two NBA champions meeting up for the title? How many times has that happened in the modern era?
Game 5 is one of the greatest Finals games ever played.
Went 7 games.
If you can't appreciate that, there's no hope for you

I have that series burned on a DVD at my parents house. Loved that Pistons team.

They play replays on any number of cable channels all the time.
Not like I bought the DVD or any dumb shite like that.

I loved them too. Fantastic lineup. Glad they won in '04. Shame there had to be a loser of the '05 series tbh.

The second was Spurs/Pistons.
2 of the most boring series in NBA history.

I am, and have been longer than you, I'd wager.
You have been watching basketball longer than I (assuming you are older than I), but you are not a fan of the game if you say you can't watch the Spurs. Show some respect and GTFO

Spurs vs Pistons was a great finals. You missed out.
Nah, this was a boring arse series. Most people outside of Spurs/Pistons fans hated it. I remember there was all kinds of talk about how horrible it would be to happen again. I didn't watch the entire series. Only cared about the first and last game. And while that may rustle your Jimmies, it's the same of a lot of basketball fans.

So, twice?
Rare occurrence was my point

you made it seem like that was the only time it happened. just pointing out that it has happened more recently than 2005

That wasn't my intention, just trying to front out the fool that called the '05 series boring by pointing out an aspect that made it unique.

whoever said 2005 was boring is idiotic
i looked into it. it has happened 4 times
1960 (boston over st louis in 7)
1987 (lakers over boston in 6)
2003 (spurs over detroit in 7)
2010 (lakers over boston in 7)
lakers/celtics account for 2 out of the 4 with the lakers winning both. boston is involved in 3 out of the 4 going 1-2. the year they beat st louis was after st louis ended their run of 8 titles. interesting to see all but one go the distance

Thanks for the research!

If anyone thinks the NBA is rigging this shite for the Heat, let Game 4 be Exhibit A for the sane posters on this board.
I think it's the exact opposite. Maybe the NBA wants this series to go 6-7 since the Spurs swept. I'm not too often into conspiracies but this would be a fun one to think about
