Not me, I like that batters have to make adjustments. It's Kosmo that wants the game played and umped by robots.

He did baseball on Fox (1998 World Series) well before NFL (2002 w/Aikman and Collinsworth).
He started working NFL games with FOX in 1994, the same year the network acquired the broadcast rights.

He's gotta be fired though. I've seen this exact story 6 years ago... Dodgers will not win a WS with him now

How you gonna walk the leadoff guy in.these circumstances???
Posted on 10/29/17 at 11:48 pm to Roger Klarvin
For whatever reason, these pitchers just suck. Walks galore while the ump is giving them a huge zone. Makes no sense.

Kind of. But also making the point that "above the plate" is probably intentionally vague.
It's not vague in the least.
If the ball crosses over the space above the plate as in the geometric shapes it would make if it were extended upward, in the zone defined in the rule for the upper and lower boundaries, it's a strike. If it doesn't, it's a ball.
This is a 100% clearly defined zone that is able to be inlayed on the damn TV screen. You're literally too stupid to insult.
quote:
If they are so clearly defined, why do strike zones still vary over a century later?
Because balls are coming at 90-100 mph with movement and it's very difficult to judge accurately.
If you have the technology to easily and fairly judge a rule, you should use it.
