Do high school football programs have "fans"?

HS football is awesome...

No Tv time outs, no bs in-between plays. Just 48 minutes of kids playing their hearts out...

Not getting paid a dime, and enjoying themselves... Best 7-8 dollars spent...

My school livestreams the games so yes

It's quite entertaining hearing former teachers commentate the games lol

I live in a different state now, so no. If I still lived in my hometown it would still be no.

No, but if they made it to the Dome and it was on TV I'd probably watch. I don't really care if they win but there's something cool about thinking back about what it would have meant to you at that age and watching those kids from your hometown live the dream.

Yes, I enjoy high school sports, and go almost every week to see a big game in the area. I don't necessarily follow my Alma Mater, but I keep up with the sport.

I'll check out the scores on Friday night scrolling through Twitter, and when they play in the state championship I will watch, but other than that no.

I still keep up with them but it's not the same anymore

In the 80s and 90s my high school was upper class white.

When I was there in the mid 2000s it was mid to upper class white

Now it's over 50% Hispanic and 33% ESL. They struggle to get enough kids to come out to play football in middle school. When I was in middle school you had an A and B team with damn near 180 kids combined for both teams. Now they dont even do an A and B team, can only get about 50-60 kids. Most of whom quit by the time they get to high school.

6 total wins in the last 5 years, it's sad what has happened. Used to be able to fill a 12k stadium in the 90s and early 2000s, now no one shows up

I'm more likely to look for the result on a late Friday night if they're good.

However they were awful this year so I did not care.

Still follow the program.

The kid that was the QB my senior year is now the head coach. I’m 29, so he is 27-28 now, was the QB at Sam Houston for three years. I was astounded when they hired him, but his dad was the former coach.

Graduated HS in Baton Rouge in 1985. My HS hasn’t won big in football in nearly 35 years as a public school.

When I was in my 20’s, I would go to my school during the winter break and watch the boys basketball team play but I really never had interest in watching HS football.

I moved to Texas and followed the Hull-Daisetta Bobcats football teams. I love college football and the NFL.
