Do you think UVA’s Kyle Guy will be as successful as JJ Redick in the NBA?

Both great jump shooters and the Guy definitely has more liift.

Being a great shooter is rare. If he finds the right team and system, he'll be fine and can have a long career. Lots of guys have. But many have failed. Being white actually works against him. He's going to have a lot of attention and unrealistic expectations because of that..

Redick is/was crazy athletic. He doesn’t get enough credit for the work he put in to be a professional athlete. A lot of people legit still remember him as the white duke player who just drained threes.

He's 6'4" and I'm pretty sure I witnessed the lone time he dunked in college. He had to go to the bench directly after due to cramps.

Kyle Guy is merely a good shooter. JJ is one of the best collegiate shooters of all time.
Also Redick is one of the best at moving off the ball and getting himself open looks.

It’ll probably take him a while like it did Reddick. That’s a lot of plays you have to draw up for players like them. If the team is good a screens, then yes. It’s just a matter of creating space for them to shoot

I think JJ was severely overrated in college, flopped a lot, and was a product of the duke hype. And Kyle Guy is nowhere near as good as JJ.

It is well known amongst the NBA the work JJ has put in. He’s known as the hardest working player in the league.
The transition he made in terms of his game and athleticism from Duke throughout his early NBA years and to today is legitimately something that white kids in the suburbs with NBA dreams look up to.
His college athleticism is shite compared to what he is now.

No. No knock on Guy, but JJ has been remarkably successful by NBA standards.
He's played 10 years worth of 82 game seasons in the league. He's top 10 all time in FT%.
He's top 20 all time in 3PT%
There have been about 3,500 players in the history of the league; JJ is in that 350-500 range all time. History and math are against Guy.

His athleticism isn’t jumping over guys. It’s his conditioning. He can run in circles constantly off screens until he gets an open look.
