I see that shite all the time. Make sure to check your Pro V1 Box before you leave stores like Academy. I saw a pro v1 box stuffed with top flites. I would have been pissed if I didn't check.

I never thought to do that until I read that on TD.com

Now with that said. I just wanted to check out some pro v's and I have a 2$ game that doesn't afford me to pay $50 for a box of golf balls.

Someone's gonna be pretty pissed when they spend $40 on a box of Wilsons

Funny you say that. I bought two boxes of One Tour balls on sale at Academy in Kenner for $17 a piece. The attendant that worked the department came by and asked my why I was opening the boxes and looking at the balls. I explained that I was checking to make sure no one had swapped the sleeves. He was dumbfounded, had no clue people would do that. I told him to check the Pro V1s, I bet theres a box on the shelf with some cheap balls. The very first box he grabbed, guess what was inside? Top Flite XLs.

until this thread, i never knew people did that

i use mostly recycled balls, especially for my first few holes until i get into a groove. of course, when i change to the good balls, they almost always go straight into the pond

Look I will probably never do that again honestly. But they should have plastic wrap around those boxes of balls. I don't see how they didn't do that already. I was going to get some Nike balls, and I opened 2 boxes and there were wilson's in there.

I honestly don't know why I don't just buy cheap arse balls (well I kinda did... ) because I suck, and constantly lose balls in the woods or water.

I like seeing some of the funny logos on the recycled balls I get.

I get a lot of wedding ones and I write funny stuff on them like "divorced" "banged the bride" "I PIIHB" etc etc

Has ball technology not changed in 16 years enough to where water has less of an effect after submersion?

Propaganda funded by the ball companies

Like I said, I know there is gonna be a difference but I don't think it affects my game enough to warrant new ball prices

But I'm a cheap frick anyway

It's a give and take impossibility. If you make the ball impenetrable and unbreathable, the dynamics of the ball change drastically.

@Croaka - sorry bud, it's not propaganda. If you've ever hit a ball with a deteriorated core, you would no exactly what I mean.
