Ding ding ding. All this GH for Kawhi stuff is nonsense.
I don't think that transaction would even be a blip on future free agents' radar.

One because Kawhi is flat out better than him.
Two because we all watched him snap his ankle off.
Three because I'm not entirely sure some players 100% respect some white players' game.

There's no way trading Hayward would hurt future acquisitions.

Trading IT would have been the ultimate "bad PR" move if one existed.

And to your previous post, Kyrie wouldn't beat GS if he was still in CLE and you took Lebron off the Cavs, but as a top two guy on a deep, well-coached team like the Celtics? Hell, they would at least compete.

Kyrie is an upgrade over Rozier with admittedly worse D

Hayward is a big upgrade over Mook

We add two All stars with intimate knowledge of our system without giving anything up. Both coming off injury of course but so is Kawhi and he’s in a contract year. I think Danny and the Cs stand pat this summer. Maybe flip Terry for a young athletic center after resigning Smart.

I didn't mean it like that.

Lebron would have had no chance to beat GS without Kyrie.

But idk if you want Kyrie being your best player when going against GS in the playoffs. Especially on a growing team like Boston.

Unless Kyrie completely changes his attitude.

Hayward isn’t leaving Boston. He is Steven’s golden boy the way Bird was Red’s (obviously not as good) but they buy into the system and play hard every second they are on the court

His attitude never was a problem when he was healthy and playing this season in Boston.

I mean his attitude as to how he thinks his team should be run.

Don’t you think an established elite coach like Stevens and a rock solid franchise with great ownership and management eases any problem he may have?

Dude

HE WAS PLAYING WITH LEBRON.

Coach? Ownership? Management?

Dude Lebron is staying with the kid until he retires if Kyrie doesn't have some weird lack of care/inferiority complex. That's one rare combo.

Kyrie saw the writing on the wall that James was gone after the year and wanted out on his own terms. The Cavs even with LeBron are a shite show organization.

Also LeBron is probably a miserable person to be on a team with despite his skill.

frick the downvotes, what you say is the business. But, Kyrie can change and did so momentarily for awhile even after Hayward went down. How many games did they win in a row there after his injury?

Kyrie is fine. Boston is set. Philly also is set. Will be fun to watch as the years pass. If Simmons finds a heartbeat shooting the basketball Philly will dominate.

And Kyrie isn't miserable to be around?

How can you ignore Kyrie not even being excited when Lebron decided to come back?

He doesn't want to be pushed. He wanted his "own team" so he could coast and ball stop and take dudes off the dribble and all the shite that he likes to do.

He fell into a perfect situation. He's about to have to pass WAY more than he likes to.

I don’t know I’ve never been around Kyrie Irving or have heard anyone say his is.

Or maybe he wanted out of a dog shite organization before the house of cards collapsed.

He just played 60+ games in the system where he has to pass WAY more than he likes to and no one heard a peep from him about anything negative.

Weird. It’s almost like being on a good team without the biggest diva in the league and under a strong coach and management makes a difference on players attitudes.

This goes against the narrative that he was trying to get away from Lebron because like you said, Lebron is horrible to be around. So many of his ex teammates have come out and said Lebron is horrible to play with

Did we hear shite when he was in Cle? That's not his style to bitch in public.

No

and they can always make moves to deal guys for more top 10 picks to reload around their top players.

Also, i believe the cap is going up again. So some body has to get the cash.

This is dumb. The Celtics need to sit right where they and let their team grow as they have plenty of future draft picks coming.

They can role with

Irving/Brown/Hayward/Tatum/Horford next season and still have solid bench depth.

They could very well be the team to dethrone the Warriors in 2018-2019.

By next season I could see that lineup giving the GSW death lineup a ton of trouble. They should be able to score a ton and someone like Green and Iggy won’t be able to take advantage on offense becaue the Celtics will play straight up.

Holy shite, if they got Kawhi that would be insane. A team full of quiet athletic freaks. Too bad their fans would be the absolute worst because their team is likeable
