As a resident of Philadelphia, Rantards are more negative about LSU than all Philly fans are about every Philly sport COMBINED.

LSU fan 12/31: This game is meaningless and an insult to LSU's season. Moreover, I will buy a ticket and not attend in protest. HAHAHA, Look at those empty seats.

LSU fan 1/1: FIRE EVERYTHING THAT MOVES

Spurrier lost a NC game 62-24, he "only" won 1 NC at Florida and lost a key game that kept him from others, yet I never hear anyone rip him and lots of LSU fans wanted him to replace Saban.

Now, I'm not saying Spurrier is a bad coach by any means, but if you put things in perspective, Miles record is pretty damn good.

Nah, dude. Spurrier sucks. His overall body of work is irrelevant. Only one or two games over the last one or two seasons matter.

Spurrier commands respect around the nation. Our coach is a laughing stock. It's why in 2005 LSU went 10-1 in the regular season andplayedin the Peach Bowl. It's why a 10-2 USC that 10-2 LSU beat is playing a New Year's Day bowl and LSU played in the Chick Fil A Bowl again.

the bulk of those were done with a stable that saban left Ghazi-level STAAAAAACKED

05 and 06 were also led by saban's OC, who miles hated

I think most people feel that LSU has Natl Champ talent and the coaching has put those 3-4 games up for grabs

This is an LSU centric view. The other teams have elite talent and highly paid coaches as well. It's easy to say the 1/9 game was a terrible game plan, but maybe Saban just had a better game plan. Execution is also a factor, but most of the time, griping about game plans and play calling is 20/20 hindsight.

Miles gets a lot more respect than you think. He is a goofball and crybaby LSU fans by and large have a huge inferiority complex.

Bill Synder is well respected and 1 year we was a Big XII CG win away from the NC and lost and wound up in the Alamo Bowl.

This is however, another example of LSU fan inferiority complex, being hung up on whether a game is played in Jan or Dec when they literally take place 15 hours apart is pretty fricking stupid. Except for Alabama and A&M, LSU played the highest ranked opponent of any SEC team, but it was in Dec so it was a slight.

ETA: in 2005 there were only 4 BCS bowls instead of the current 5. Auburn probably gets an at large, which would have bumped everyone else up. The Outback bowl has only take 1 SEC West team in 14-15 years.

True, but a 9-3 Alabama team that LSU beat went to the Cap 1 Bowl in 2010 over a 10-2 LSU team in 2010. Our coach does not command respect. He's a side show, a media sound bite.

Dude, you are way to hung up on this bowl pecking order, you sound like some snobby rich girl judging brands of shoes or something

LSU went to the Cap One Bowl in 2009. We wanted to go to the Cotton in 2010. Its a much better stadium, better experience for the players, better time slot, closer to home, better opponent over all a better bowl, why people like you think the Cap One bowl is more prestigious because the payout is a little better is beyond me.

In 2006 we were the choice to go to the Rose Bowl before USC fricked up and blew a shot at the BCS CG, but no, one respects LSU or Les, because we didn't go to the Cap One bowl

ETA: When the playoff starts in 2014 and you have what will be called access bowls. The Cotton and CFA will be in, the Cap One will be out.

In this history of all sports, there has never been a coach with as many wins as Miles who also seems to be a genuinely decent human being but who is truly hated by segment on the fanbase.

Those knuckleheads seem to think every game should be won every year.

They have washed their memory clean of the fact that it took almost 50 freaking years between championships.

They seem to have washed their memory of the Archer, Hallman and DiNardo years.

They forget that Cholly Mac NEVER won the big games.

Les Miles is one of the best coaches in CFL. The idiots seem to think anyone would be better.

Ask Nebraska how it worked for them when they fired a 9-3 coach. Ask Notre Dame how long it took for them to find a coach to get them back into the top. Ask Miami.

Yet, the morons seem to think elite coaches are everywhere. Well, we have one. I hope he is here until he retires at a ripe old age.

The rest of the nation does not respect Coach Miles. The Capital One Bowl is for the SEC #1 not in the BCS. Just because LSU went to that bowl the previous year means nothing. As stated here earlier, South Carolina goes to the Outbck Bowl pretty much 2 out of every 3 years.

In 2005, Les Miles begged the Cotton Bowl for an invite (before the SECCG) and the Cotton Bowl said screw you, we want the Bama team that you beat in Tuscaloosa.

No you don't respect him so you assume everyone thinks like you, you are wrong, plenty of people respect him.

It gets the first pick, that does not mean it is slotted to the best team. Ask most non SEC people and I'd bet they say the Cotton is a better bowl, it has history. No one cares about bowl pecking order outside of the BCS, except people with an inferiority complex.

USCe has been to the Outback Bowl 4 times total: 2000, 2001, 2009 and 2012. The Cap One Bowl has not taken the same SEC team in back to back years since Tennessee in 96 and 97. They haven't take the same B1G team in back to back years since Wisky in 06 and 07.

You think this is all based on merit and respect, its not. These bowls are meaningless exhibitions. The bowl is more concerned with ticket sales and fans traveling, but I'm fairly certain LSU asked for the Cotton Bowl because we were playing Oregon there the next season, its closer and a better experience for the players. Listen to what the players say, they didn't like the Cap One Bowl, but loved the Cotton and CFA. Its basically meaningless game the players should enjoy.

A lot of fans lack perspective. A huge problem with LSU fans that are bitching and moaning is that they only watch LSU and Alabama play.

I'd argue the opposite. Fans can turn on pretty much any game and see at least one of the teams running a competent and innovative offense that consists of more than 3 run plays and 3 pass plays.

Name another team or coach that didn't cross the 50 yard line in the game until halfway through the 4th quarter.
