Yea, cause those other elite programs are recruiting talent much worse than ours. You can't really believe that, can you?

We've lost 2 of the last 3 to the only team on our schedule who recruits better.

I don't agree with the quote, but LSU has had supereior talent to just about anyone. Call me a homer but LSU has had studs the last few years.

Florida and Alabama have had talent just as good as ours, no doubt IMO.

And that's 2 teams we play every year.

So, what's the problem?

We're 2 bama losses from 2 possible titles, and you admit they recruit better? So, I'm confused now lol

117/119 would qualify as LSU having better than most. Don't agree with FL having better talent this year.

It works both ways
. No it doesn't. Les Miles' style of play leads to 3-4 toss up games a year that comes down to the last drive of the game. You can't expect to win all of those.

We just let Clemson, minus their biggest playmaker, abuse us last night. The game should have been a 17 pt victory. However, the Les Miles offense has sucked every year since 2008 and we can't get separation from any good team.

I'm moreso talking about in general over the past 5-10 years, not just this year.

Apparently it also leads to a national titles, SEC titles, and multiple top 5 finishes.

Apparently it also leads to being the 2nd or 3rd best program in the nation over the past 8 years.

Again, I'm just pointing out ALL the facts, not ONLY his shortcomings.

They've recruited better for several years now, it's not a new idea in my head.

The problem is that when we face better teams, we lose because we need our coach to put the pieces together and get the best out of the players on the field. Les doesn't do this and never will.

Agree that LSU cant put a team away. I feel like we go entire games of being a better team and the game still comes down to the last drive.

Even if I concede that, which I won't lol.

You're basically saying LSU has recruited 2nd best in the nation over the past 8 years and they have been at worst the 3rd best program.

What is THAT bad about that?

Because we never show up when it counts and at some point that falls on the head coach.

I think most people feel that LSU has Natl Champ talent and the coaching has put those 3-4 games up for grabs. There have been years where LSU got all the breaks in those 3-4 games; now the law of averages seem to have caught up with Les.

I agree with you hear nothing wrong with being a top 3 program. Its just once you are up there you want to be the best every year. Les is an easy goat with some of his decisions.

Right. Losing to Alabama this year didn't bother me that much because we had a good game plan and the team seemed to mesh more than any game this year. It's games like UF and Clemson that confuse me.

ETA: let's just agree to disagree. I'm out.

FWIW, I don't really disagree with your point that he makes questionable decisions that can cost us games at times.

I guess my overriding point is that it seems that people discount the positives, and there are lots of positives, the record/success over the past 8 years shows that.

The "what if" game could also land him about 3 national titles.

2 plays in games that Alabama wasn't playing the last 2 years go the other way and Bama is in back to back Sugar Bowls Hell if A&M beats Florida or LSU, Bama is SECW runner up 2 years running, because they lost at home. The what if game can go a lot of ways but people love to use it to suit their narrative.
