Any of you all have any experience with this camp in the last 5-10 with any kiddos?
I went there growing up and really liked it and now my son wants to attend.. This is Joe Dean's camp from years ago.
Thanks in advance..

I don't care for corn flakes, and that's not something I should eat on my current diet, and I didn't work out this morning to work up a sweat, but I still poured a bowl of cornflakes and put some sweat in it for the colonel this morning.

"Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning a lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve to death. It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or gazelle. When the sun comes up, you'd better be running."

I went there a couple times back in the day. Probably the funnest times of my life. But I loved basketball. Only send your kid there if he loves basketball because he plays a LOT of basketball. But it was cool being a younger kid and kinda somewhat being on your own. I went there back when the AC units didnt work So it was a week of constant sweat, but as a kid, you can handle.

Edit: Im no help to you as I see that you went yourself.

Most important lesson from that camp is Dixie Time™... wish I abided by it today.

You had to be there.

Something we did there that I brought back to my high school team and have always kind of lived by since then, is no calling fouls on game point. You earn it on offense, and if you're on defense, you make them earn it.
People used to get mad at me all the time at the rec when I wouldn't call a foul when missing a shot at game point. Just can't do it.

Great times. The 3 on 3 tournaments on the carpet gym floor in 100 degree heat with Joe Dean watching on will make you grow up a bit. 3 on 3 was called "blood, sweat, and tears".

If your kid can't appreciate a week at the nicest country club in Mississippi, you ain't raised 'em right.

Kids have went the last 5 or so years.

It is exactly the same as when you went.. same setup, same games, same cheers and even the dorms are the same (they appear to have been last updated in 1975).. also the camp is about 90% kids from Baton Rouge
