Are those guys dipping the coffee grounds or is that tobacco? Dipping is banned in college but some of those TN players looked like they had a dip in

Has to be tobacco...it’s rampant across all of baseball.

It’s banned in high school too... Leon Landry had one in coaching 1st base during the ladder half of the game today

Just figured they would crack down during the televised games. I don’t care they do it but figured it’s a bad look for the young ones

Pretty sure it's banned in the MLB as well, but you can see Bregman rocking one regularly.

Sadly it is a pretty standard thing to see. High school all the way through the pros.

He's had something in his mouth every game. I'm assuming it's not dip. No way a coach would do that when it's banned, especially a coach under Paul Mainieri

I don’t care what the adults do. It’s a bad look for the kids. Drinking beer and smoking cigarettes is also a bad look and kids see that everywhere too. I saw players dip in the pros, and it certainly didn’t make me want to try it.

The umpire can eject you if you are dipping in college. I also think he can eject the head coach of a player has a dip in. There isn’t many umpires that will say anything except take it out.

Umpires normally don’t say anything in college unless it’s just blatantly obvious or you start spitting juice on the field.

Yeah, I don't think many umpires are gonna enforce that rule. Most of them probably dip too.

It's a stupid rule regardless, they're grown men, they aren't naive to the dangers of dipping. And let's not act like just because little Johnny sees somebody dipping that means that he's gonna go down to the gas station and pick up a can of snuff. I hate the world we live in today, full of unnecessary bullshite rules.

I don't care one way or the other. It was pretty rampant when I played high school baseball in the early 2000s.

What's funny to me is why baseball appears to be the only sport where this happens. It would be hilarious to see a dude running down the basketball court, make a 3, and then run by the opposing bench and spit a huge one right at the feet of the opposing head coach.

When I played high school ball, early 80s, one of the guys on the team had a brother that played at Miss. State and the dip companies would send sleeves to the college teams to dip and we would get them sent to us by his brother
