So Jordan joined a team and they got worse? Or not much better?

Lebron would have made the team much better.

Not worse, just not that much better for that playoffs. You need to be near perfect to win a Ship. Poster above explained it well, Pippen had to go to #2, #3 to #4, etc. It is a whole different philosophy.

Besides, you guys laughed about the 4 less points and 2 more TO's per game and for the life of me I can't believe you guys think that's some small #.

The points and turnovers thing is a complete non issue my man

You're comparing the points to his highest average point totals during the 6 ships. The stats fall right in line with all the others during the run. And because I like making you laugh.....

Who cares about the points being down by just 2? Lebron has the ability to change games in a multitude of ways. Jordan....apparently not so much

Had to underline and bold that one. 4 points less and 2 more TO's is huge.

No, I took his last season played in 93 and compared them to his next season played in 95. Not doing anything out of the ordinary at all. Those stats were posted by lsupride.

LBJ is awesome. He's just not MJ awesome yet. I don't think he will make it there. I mean he's 2-3. It was a few seconds from 1-4. And after GS beats them, he will be 2-4. That just wasn't happening with Jordan. For LeBron having a pretty easy run through the East for a few years, he's gotta show they earned it by winning the whole thing.

ETA: I want to watch the GS game so see ya

Youre playing the results by thinking otherwise

No he's not. The objective people(Vegas) absolutely did not pick Bulls or Hawks to beat the Cavs. Not even remotely close.

He was 30 and 32 respectively. His age caused nearly 2 more TO's a game that went right back down to normal the next year? His age?

Dude, we are talking about a handful of games of sample size. I'm sure he had 10 game stretches between 90-93 where he had comparable or greater turnover rates. And maybe the fact that the team wasn't as good caused him to do too much. Either way, the numbers are absolutely not significantly indicative that he was playing the games drunk like y'all seem to be implying.

OK well ill help you. He didnt score 4 more points and have 2 less turnovers for every year of his career(or even prime) over a massive sample size. You cherry picked his best year that was probably a bit of an outlier that would have come back down closer to his other years over a bigger sample size.

31 and 35 are both within a very reasonably confidence interval for sample sizes of 20. His distribution is scattered between high 20s to mid 30s. He isn't going to average exactly 32.3 points a game every year even if he is exactly as good as a player. It does not need to be explained by a different level of play.

Bill Laimbeer told the Dan Patrick show that he would take LeBron James over Michael Jordan. Before doubling-down on his opinion by saying that Jordan could not have led James' current Cavs team to the NBA Finals, Laimbeer said he views LeBron James as a superior player to Michael Jordan. "There’s no question I would take LeBron James," Laimbeer said. "He can do more. Michael Jordan could score and make big shots and look spectacular at times with wild flying dunks, but LeBron can get you 18 rebounds, get you 15 assists or score 50 if he wants to." With some down time before the Finals start, we're guessing this isn't the last Jordan-James comparison we'll hear.

Holy shite Peeeej and his 80s goons are absolutely going to freak out. Remeber, big bad Bill is the reason why Lebron would have sucked in the 80s. You need to start a specific thread for this. If you dont want that burden, I will gladly do it for you. Just let me know

At the same stage of their 30 y/o seasons:

Jordan: 2 Finals, 2 Championships, 2 Finals MVPs, 3 NBA MVPs, and was about to play in and win his 3rd straight Finals

LeBron: 5 Finals, 2 Championships, 2 Finals MVPs, 4 NBA MVPs, and is about to play in his 6th Finals and his 5th straight

By any objective measure, LeBron is better than Jordan at this point in their lives...

Jordan blowers can't stand to see stats like this. They want them to be false, but the truth is just to much for them to handle.

I love that in some people's minds losing in the conference finals is better than losing in the Finals.

That first Finals team in Cleveland was just absolute garbage. They had no business being there. But LeBron carried them there. If they had lost earlier, like they should have with that talent, nobody is talking about a Finals loss there.
