You have to give props to Jake Paul’s grift. The fact that he’s still able to sucker people into paying money to watch these glorified exhibitions vs dudes who either have never boxed before or are 15-20 years older than him is a brilliant business strategy.

Not close IMO. Crawford-Spence did north of 675,000 buys, opposite of Pouier - Gathje. Diaz-Paul might do a 1/3 of that

Was reported that Paul-Fury did north of 800,000 PPV Buys.

Paul-Fury - 800k
Paul-Askren - 500k
Paul-Woodley 1 - 500k
Paul- Silva - 300k
Paul-Woodley 2 - 200k

So it's possible Paul-Diaz approaches that 675k number, but it'll probably be in the 400k-500k range.

Anyone know what time the fight is supposed to start? I don't care about the pre fight stuff.

Or is there a schedule of fights like they do for ufc?

ETA: just found ring walls supposed to be at 1030p.

Wonder what Paul's first loss will do for his bottom line moving forward. Kind of removes the mystique while also adding a little credibility. If he keeps matching up with Hall of Famers, I imagine he can keep raking in cash as long the fights have the appearance of being competitive and legitimate.

Agree. He’s bigger, younger, and actually has more boxing experience than his opponent.

Also, boxing vs MMA boxing is different. Regular boxing have a lot of clinching, whereas in MMA boxing you have to take in account kicks and takedowns to defend.

This sounds as if you didn't know that Paul lost to Tommy Fury in his last fight by split decision----and Tommy Fury has made a career out of fighting what is known as "Tomato Cans" in boxing jargon.

Hoping for a double KO and both end face first on the canvas. But baring that miracle, and I can’t believe I’m going to say this, I hope Diaz wins.

I expect this thread later tonight to be talking about how terrible and washed Diaz is. He’s going to look embarrassingly slow

I'm hoping Diaz "forgets" it's boxing and kicks Paul right in his fricking head

Yesh he hasnt look very impressive his last few fights outside of when he popped leon. I think most people are hoping his chin holds up and jake tires out.
