Didn’t want to see Kahnle but there’s not many left.

Knew it was over as soon as he took the mound, but the Tigers were out of pitching so it happens.

Just waking up and recapping some thoughts from that game and the Tiger’s season. .

- Apparently Gleyber Torres was playing through a hernia the last month of the season. That explains some of his awful at bats September-onward. Makes me think how awful are the rest of our hitters if he continued to hit in the two hole.

- Troy Melton took huge strides this year and seeing him wiggle out of a jam in the 10th inning shows he’s got the stuff and the stones to be great.

- Postseason Javy was a lot of fun. I really thought he was going to come up with a clutch hit in extra innings but wasn’t meant to be.

- Yes Kahnle sucks and was terrible this series but the 2-5 hitters going 0-23 in this game was inexcusable. My god they never sat on any offspeed pitches even though they were getting 75-80% of them. Meanwhile our .287 hitter Jahmai Jones never touched a bat.

This team has to get some hitting or Skubal is good as gone. It’s a shame ownership didn’t look for a quality bat over the trade deadline. They really could have used one last night.

Lastly it was a mostly fun season till September where it was mostly miserable. lol. But they played baseball into early October and that’s better than no baseball. I just hope Illitch spends some money on this team to give them the best opportunity moving forward but I won’t keep my hopes up.

Kahnle didn’t lose the game.

The Tigers were playing with fire the entire playoffs not hitting well with RISP and as you said the middle of the lineup collapsed.

The GM didn’t do anything significant at the trade deadline and a pretty mediocre lineup with an average bullpen got cold down the stretch.

That’s the story of the 2025 Tigers.

Skubal is LEGIT. Such a shame to waste that nitro performance yesterday. Where do we see him ending up long term?

Skubal is a Boras guy going into the final year of his contract. He's definitely not going back to Detroit, but the fanbase would riot if they traded him, even if they could get an absolute haul for him. Detroit is stuck between a rock and a hard place, and the best move for them may be pushing all of their chips to the middle of the table and going all in on 2026.

That last pitch was an 87 mile meatball right into the Lefty batter's wheelhouse.

Pitcher either wanted to go home OR was just dead tired.

Mariners and Jays is a welcome change. Can we get Milwaukee in on the NL? It’d be nice to watch a WS without a team I despise.

Kahnle didn’t lose the game.

He pretty much did. Of course you can blame the hitting and the pitching decisions.
Shouldn’t have taken Flaherty out.
And after the first two at bats it was very obvious Kahnle wasn’t going to get out that inning and they should have made a change.
They were sitting on that changeup every pitch and he couldn’t throw a fastball for a strike.

I should’ve been more clear.

He lost the game.

But the GM didn’t stick the bullpen at the deadline when it was obvious they needed an arm or two to make a run.

I don’t blame him for being what he is. I blame the GM for putting Hinch in a position where he had to pitch him in pressure situations.
