My question boils down to this: What's the difference between blackmail and sending a demand letter?

In either case you're saying: "Pay me x amount or I'm going to sue and/or take this public?" Seems like a pretty fine line. In fact, I don't really see the difference between "buying silence indefinitely" and paying to settle a claim and get an NDA signed.

$30,000 is gonna seem like nothing when this is all said and done.

His neighbors might think its cool he lives in the neighborhood when he has to notify them.

Usually when people blackmail someone its because they did something and they know it and don't want it to get out.
Rarely do people pay to silence false allegations. It happens just to make it go away but people tend to have pride and resolve against slander

lol have you heard some of the stuff he was asking them to do? Even if it was consensual, he wouldn't want that out.

Think what the Texans could've gotten for Deshaun a few months ago and his new team would be dealing with this.

Damn they must be kicking themselves. At least they can likely void his contract for moral clauses I assume.

Being a licensed masseuse doesn’t mean squat. It doesn’t take that much to get licensed in that. It’s like when people get certified as personal trainer. It’s easy to do and carries weight often when it shouldn’t.

it means something when the woman in question is licensed and is working at a licensed Spa.

two of the women were not even a masseuse, they were skin treatment techs
