Has there ever been a more harsh injury to a team in the beginning of the playoffs than this?

The spurs losing Ginobili last year is close. Seeing as they went on to get swept

Does Tim Duncan in 2000 count? The Spurs were robbed of a chance to defend their title

I doubt they would've beaten the lakers that year anyway.

Wasn't 2000 the year they blatantly fixed the Western Conf finals for the lakers against the Kings? might've been 2002 now that I think about it. It's still up on youtube and kings fans are still pissed about it lol

it was

and Rose's injury has some potentially longer-lasting effects than some of the earlier ones mentioned. his explosiveness is such a big part of his game, you wonder if he'll ever have it back.

The Bulls today looked damn good. I certainly think (if Rose is healthy, which isn't gonna happen) that they could beat Miami.

Rose was healthy last year and the league MVP....and the Heat took Chicago out in 5 games. Once the playoffs start and the intensity gets ramped up, the only team that can beat the Heat is themselves.
