If Yainer and Dirden don't both break camp with the big club and see decent playing time, I'll be quite disappointed.

Was against the Brantley signing and you are all seeing the reasons play out. Could have used that money more effectively.

2 more days Baws and Lady.

Dirden has earned the right to make the team but I think he will likely get abused early. Best thing to do for him is start him in LF and let him play almost every day to start the season. If Brantley comes back, send him down and let him work on the flaws that were exposed over the next few months so he can come back as a strong LH bat off the bench later in the year.

He who shall not be named on the mound for the S-tits tonight against the Astros. Prepare thy popcorn.

Diaz scratched. Can only mean one thing.

Dirden didn’t make it, neither did Korey Lee. Corey Julks and Cesar Salazar did. Seth Martinez and Ronel Blanco got the last two bullpen spots. All according to Chandler Rome.

A little surprised at Julks over Dirden but I’m glad one of them is on. Hopefully Dusty plays him. Didn’t expect Lee to get sent down either. Should be plenty of ABs for Yainer and Hensley if we stick to lots of off days

Ready as he'll ever be. I like it.

Struck out too much even in spring training so he needs more seasoning.

They don't seem to like Lee too much.

I know nothing about Salazar. Looks fairly versatile so I’m guessing he and Yainer split backup catching duties with the ability to play elsewhere? Mostly just hoping Diaz plays a lot if he’s gonna be up

Cool moment for him (and the other young guys making it). Will get to see the banner raised too and all that fun. Dusty is going to be Larry David meme trying to decide between off days and playing these youngsters

I was thinking that Julks was already on the 40-man, burlt it doesn't appear that's the case. Salazar either, so I guess someone is getting DFA'd.
They don't show on the active roster yet either, but Altuve and Brantley and LMJ aren't officially IL yet it looks like.
ETA: Blanco will likely start plenty as well.

Facing most of the Astros' everyday lineup, Forrest Whitley has retired nine of the first 10 batters he's seen. He has five strikeouts, has generated 11 whiffs and bumped 96.7. mph across the first three innings.

Forrest Whitley's evening is over. It was a very encouraging one. He threw 39 of his 56 pitches for strikes, generated 13 whiffs and struck out 5. He surrendered 2 hits and did not walk a batter. The Astros swung at 13 of his sliders. Seven of those were whiffs.
Enoli Paredes came in for him and promptly gave up a single to Ted and a bomb to Chas.
