26) Texas Rangers Commentary team: Dave Raymond and CJ Nitkowski/Tom Grieve Raymond is a former minor leaguer once traded for case of crab cakes and a pound of shrimp. My game featured Grieve as the color man: a former Texas player and GM. Raymond doesn’t have a classic “radio” voice which leads to a free-flowing, less formal, conversational call. Rangers reliever Jose Leclerc comes on and walks three but the team don’t really recognize the dangerous wildness of the reliever who almost hits Seattle’s Jean Segura in the head. Overall, low on the gimmicks, and, at least when I tuned in, common sense.

Poor Dave

Thanks Theo. What they gave up is roughly equivalent to giving up Tucker and Whitley plus two lover level guys. frick that

God dammit. It would have appeared that Quintana was not our target. The sub .500 Cubs taking away a target from the real contenders means that much more competition for whoever we go after.

The Yankees are the only other team after a starter that has young assets comparable to ours. I fail to see how this is a bad thing.

Maybe the Rockies but I'm not convinced they'll do anything big

Yeah I wouldn't be too concerned. It def makes sense for the Cubs to have wanted a long term SP acquired. Arrieta and Lackey are both likely gone after this season

Same with them as the Rockies. I would be surprised if they aggressively pursue the same players we are.

Brewers are in first by 2.5 games over the Cubs and a have a good farm. I don't see them standing pat and letting that dwindle. Pitching is a need for them.

They are young and ahead of schedule in rebuilding. They're basically at the same point we were in 2015 when we dealt for Kazmir Fiers and Gomez. Maybe I'm wrong but I doubt they'll be after guys like Gray and DeGrom offering their top prospects with where they are at.

It would be a huge mistake and they've done an excellent job rebuilding so far.

I'd be concerned the asking price of Gray just went up, they will expect a deal similar to what the Sox got

This lineup gives us the best offensive production. Not sure why we haven't seen this on an actual lineup card yet.

Springer CF
Reddick RF
Altuve 2B
Correa SS
McCann C
Beltran LF
Marwin 3B
Gattis DH
Gurriel 1B

I'm not worried about it. Lunhow has said he's interested in a 10 year window....not a 3 year window.
