Cole was crazy raw. An area scout found him almost by accident due to having scouted a pitcher we had drafted at Ball State. Coaches and teammates were saying that Cole, who wasn't even playing, was a freak.

Yep. I know it’s a small sample size but I didn’t see anything from Melton (or Mathews for that matter) that warranted that type of protection.
