If Miley could get out of the first inning recently, the Astros would have the BRIB.

Also, you’re better than this, tduecen.

How do you not know the first rule of the DAT?

Haven’t read the DATs recently... but what are people’s thoughts on Miley’s struggles right now?

Anybody here think it may be as simple as he’s tipping his pitches?

Teams have been shelling him like they know exactly what’s coming...

Tucker leading off with no Altuve or Springer in the lineup... hmmm

I think the simple answer is that he’s been missing spots and getting a bit unlucky with so many softly hit balls to open spots.

Is that the correct answer though? I mean two games in a row he doesn’t even get out of the first inning. Only recorded 1 out and gave up hit after hit and run after run. And he’s been Mr. Consistently all year before that.

Seems to be a little more than some bad luck and even missing spots. Pitchers don’t have their best stuff sometimes and don’t get pulled in the first inning two games in a row...

Oh for God sake AJ. Theres a scheduled off day tomorrow. And another one on Thursday.

Today was the day he waved the white flag on home field.

I think if he was tipping pitches we would have heard something about it

It wasn't like there wouldn't be another opportunity to start a DAT. He broke the DAT equivalent of the 'no facial hair' rule promoted by the Naz...Yankees.

Yea. Definitely a puzzling decision to start a DAT. He knows the rules. I'm actually disappointed

My stated opinion on this was that he was facing the A's and Mariners for the umpteenth time this year and both teams figured him out. Miley doesn't have JV/Cole stuff that can dominate a team time and time again.

And Miley admitted after the last outing that he needs to change a few things. I honestly think he will be fine from here on out.

Last chance. If Miley can't hold it together, the have to make an alternate arrangement.

This guy

quote:

Concerning the race for baseball's best record, Hinch struck a tone he's kept all season, that home field advantage "matters" but is not an "end all, be all." Houston won the 2017 World Series without the sport's best record.

"We control what we're doing," Hinch said. "I'm not going to concede to sort of caring or focusing too much on any of that, with the exception of we show up every day to win. We want to win every game. If that ends up with the most wins in baseball, great. If it doesn't we'll be fine."

Miley will only pitch 1 2/3 innings today, but at least this would be a HUGE improvement for him.
