I expected to pick up a professional hitter this past off season.

At this point, these guys are playing for roster spots next year, and unfortunately they know it, which puts a lot more pressure on their ABs than a wild card race.

There was also an article today that Gattis is the worst pitch framer/receiver in baseball.

Like a solid poo is better than diarrhea.

He can't hit RHP, his pitch blocking is arse and even if he was competent, he can't stay healthy enough to be a full time catcher.

I would prefer we go get someone better, but just to play devils advocate on that specific issue....he hadn't caught in 2 years and I'm sure that's something that can get worked on tremendously during an offseason/more playing time

I can agree with that and solid dumps are better.

Does that stat have any associated stats, like pitchers ERA or SO's or BB or something because I haven't noticed it affecting our pitchers.

Jake has a really bad habit of crushing balls to dead center.

What do y'all think about trading for McCann now that he cleared waivers? Sorry if y'all discussed this already

Really has this franchise ever had a decent hitting catcher? Ive been a fan over 30 years and all i can remember is the half season of pudge and then eusebio once had a 30 game hitting streak. I remember mitch meluskey being a decent hitter but then i dont remember what happened to him. Overall we've had turd after turd at that spot. Although I will say as much as I hated ausmus he hit probably the biggest home run in franchise history so all his years of dogshite are forgiven with me

LINK

Here's the article, it was about blocking pitches. Scroll down a little ways, pretty good article about Kenny G being the first to strike out 5 guys in 1.2 innings in like 20 years or so

How much of his salary will the Yankees be paying?

We need at least 5 runs to win this one. That's totally doable right?
