This will be Kikuchi's 5th start against the Astros season. One of those starts was great, one was a complete disaster (7 ER in 2.2 a few weeks ago) and the other two were mediocre at best. He has a 6.23 ERA across those 4 starts.

McCullers will be making his third start against Seattle, inlcuding a strong performance in that same game where Kikuchi got rocked. Lance has been better on the road this season, which goes against his careeer trends, so we'll see if that continues.

The Astros have 6 hitters with HR against Kikuchi, Altuve, Yed, Breggy, Yuli, Maldy, and King Jake. Dusty can't sit them all, right?

The Mariners have one player with HR against Lance, Kyle frickING Seager with 3. That dude owns the Astros, it seems. (Reality, 30 HR in 149 games against Houston, with a .240 BA... he really makes the Rangers his bitch, though.)

Also, frick the Rangers.

And frick off, Dusty Baker.

Hope more of you guys and gals have power today than yesterday!

I'll give last night to Click for convincing Seattle to take Joe Smith.

I wasn't able to watch last night because I didn't have enough internets, but tonight should be fine.

I just went and watched last night's highlight video. Anyone know if Dylan Moore needed surgery to remove his finger from his arse? How do you not throw home when you are the left fielder and the runner trying to score isn't even at 3rd yet when you get the ball?

He saw Tucker stutter step to avoid the ball while looking back to make sure the SS didn't snag it

Both he and Seager assumed he would never go, getting that late of a jump

As a matter of fact, it was either very calculated or very stupid to send Tucker there

Everyone remember that Mike Fiers is a snitch and a bitch. Pepperidge Farms remembers.

Yeah, he clearly went non-chalant with the throw in assuming Tucker was holding at third. He was getting the windmill the whole way, though.

Grinded to stay up for the last outs last night while using my phone to hotspot to our iPad. Not gonna lie there were a couple of naps mixed in, but woke up as Pressly was walking the leadoff man thankfully he was able to pitch around it.

Keep winning boys

Happy Justin Verlander trade anniversary.

This day 4 years ago we were finishing up an 11-17 month of August. Then JV walked through the door, we rattled off a 20-8 August and the rest was earned history.

I don't even try for these west Coast games unless it's the playoffs. I would be at 4-5 hours of sleep before getting up for work. I can do that every now and then but not consistently.

That August month was fricking brutal, as I recall. Correa, Springer, Altuve, Keuchel, and most of the starting rotation were all injured. Joe Musgrove, Mike Rat Bastard Fiers, and Charlie Morton carried the rotation til JV arrived and the team got healthy.

Man, the win last night was absolutely earned. We sacrificed Abraham Toro for that win.

Thank you for your service Abe. Without you, the Mariners would have never taken Joe Laforce and Dusty would still be putting that mother fricker in games with runners on base.

ETA: frick off, Dusty Baker

I don't think the Astros even have enough room under the tax to claim him at the fraction of his current salary left. Hand is making $10.5 million this year so they'd need about 2.5 in space and they don't have it.

Well shite.

Not sure it would get in done in time for the playoff roster cutoff anyway. Don't know how long waivers take, but in theiry if claimed couldn't we work out a trade and send a prospect for them eating salary? Or is that out with the current rules?

At least this will be the last of Robel. Marwin played in Florida today so I suspect he'll be ready to join the club next week? Hopefully.

It's rest time for CK with Urquidy back any day now.
